  • My mom played the piano 4 the real plaids!

  • i just got back from "Plaid Tidings" and can I say that I almost cried when Sparky said "and drive safe"

  • Wow!!! It's been sooooo cool!

  • I just got cast as smudge... and from looking at the comments it looks like smudge is a very hard character to play... and I am the least talented of the 4 in the play :| still this is awesome and i'm looking to this guy's character for connection with my own :D

  • It's too bad that the theater here (and when I saw it) seems 75% full of old people... the singing is pretty damn incredible, and the songs are catchy for anybody.

  • If this guy sung this seriously, it would ... I think pwn the current owner of this song - Tennessee Ernie Ford. 2*

  • no dude... tennesee ernie ford originally learned to sing opera, but quit because it was boring... i think he still has rights on that one

  • @Bob65001: I'm glad you replied. B/c I got to re-hear this guy's voice. Ernie Ford was the owner of this song. This guy's voice is only reminiscent of Ernie Ford's voice. Thanks!

  • I dunno yet -- it's an audition for the entire season. I don't know much about this particular show so I figured I'd do my research - but I'm a huge fan of Sam Cooke -- I can sing both songs equally well though....so, I dunno...

  • Love it - I'm auditioning for it next weekend!

  • good luck! What part are you going for?

  • Ok - I was just told by the Casting Director that they're looking for "Smudges" I have no idea what that means....do you?

  • Smudge is the base and a very fun role. He's the one who wears the glasses, is dyslexic and very awkward, but lovable. There is a number at the end where he breaks out of his "awkward shell" and becomes a heart-throb (the chicks go wild, lol). His part requires a huge vocal range, from VERY low (I don't remember the note) to quite high (G).

  • YAY! Got it! Thanks for the tip...

  • Awesome, Awesome...I just got the monologue they want to here...it starts out. Uh...while Jinx is clotting, I'll forge ahead. You know that saying "You can't take it with you. Well you can. You're allowed one suitcase....can you tell me about this scene???? Please, I have a week to memorize it (Aug 6th)

  • Jinx just got a bloody nose and Franky (the leader) has to help him so can't talk to the audience. So Franky forces Smudge to take over and keep the show going. Smudge is very nervous and just starts talking to the crowd about whatever... like the suitcase he's carrying. Soon he's no longer nervous, and gets into his speech about the records. Hope that helps.

  • Ok, I got it. I appreciate your help = I'll let ya know. Send me a message if you want any other way to contact me...

  • The song would be "Cry" We did this a few years ago here, and it was one of the most fun shows i have had a hand in

  • @ookete In late repsonse, it is a Low C.. and the High G is optional. but even than, it would be an F

  • @ookete i fell in love with Smudge, i went to go see Plaid Tidings and I wanted to take him home with me.

  • I have to ask, do you have "Rags to Riches" from this show, and if you do, would you please post it?

  • It was good makes me proud to be the newphew of the first sparky he said "well bless my soul" he should have kept it deep thats all

  • I love both of these songs :) Thank you!
