i killed him there with flames. i don't know how many people know this but flame puts a dot on the enemy that can be refreshed and the longer it ticks uninterrupted, the more damage it does. the damage increase seems to be exponential with no upper limit. so i kept refreshing the dot and in the end got ticks for 6.9 MILLION fire dmg PER SECOND! vlad couldn't take it.

@teeds88 I did this! Except my max DoT got to about 400,000 per tick, not 6.9 million. Did it with spamming two arcane, three fire again and again until he died.
