A clock is just angular motion and not the same as the essence of time. Time maybe an illusion or an illusory by-product of change in states of energy. Or is time a law, like the laws of physics. It exists but you can't touch it. Then again, if time is continual change, then how long does it take. So we're back to square one. Can time be real and unreal at the same time. Whatever time is, when you think you're about to understand it, suddenly you don't. It exists but then again it doesn't.

I think we started measuring time by it's relevance in our life, ie. by the sun because it is a constant which gives us warmth and light to see etc. U could choose to use gravity ie. the amount of time it takes for this amount of sand to spill from the top to the bottom.
Could it possible that time is only relative to matter so its not the passage of time we are trying decipher, but only the output of the decay of radiation and other like particles take for instance if u came across a person that lived for 10,000 years

I clicked on it because I thought it might be a video about the illusion of time. But who's to say that there cannot be something learned from the communication of the pure imagery? Just because we may misinterpret something doesn't mean it isn't viable. Could this actually be a work of such genius that it soars above our level of understanding? I clicked on it because I thought it might be a video about the illusion of time. But who's to say that there cannot be something learned from the communication of the pure imagery? Just because we may misinterpret something doesn't mean it isn't viable. Could this actually be a work of such genius that it soars above our level of understanding? When we talk about time as an illusion we think first about the word illusion. An illusion is a percievable disturbance. Time is a disturbance factor in space - it can be altered, yet we cannot see it. It is the root of all movement, energy etc equations that we build on
Time is a created component that we use to sequence events.
It is definatly not a force. It has no physical effect on anything outside of its own reference frame.

a singularity is a name physics gives to an area where gravitational measurements become infinite. These are gravitational singularities.
A mathematical singularity is a specific point where an object is not defined. This does not mean it does not obey the standard laws of physics.
A black hole is technically an example of both, but no physical law states that infinite gravity cannot exist.

You are defining time in two different aspects. Time is not an illusion by any means. However, humans quantify time by measuring it and keeping track of it. Animals exist in time. They are aware of it's passage. Day, night, feeding time, etc. They can anticipate an event if it occurs at the same point every day. A dog (or cat) will sit by the door a few minutes before the owner gets home from work, even though the owner is miles away.

Near the speed of light, time for you would slow down significantly. You wouldn't know this is happening. You'd perceive time as running normally, but someone outside your ship would observe that your time, compared to his, is running extremely slowly. You, however, would see the outside as running really fast. You could watch an outsider grow old quite quickly. So, a beam of light would appear to travel normally from your perspective. Time is flexible to the motion of mass.
