This is the most amazing and touching battle/aftermath in probably any cartoon or anime or show. It's just executed so beautifully, and Usopp knew all of Luffy's weaknesses, making a normal human, up to par with a superhuman, as well as rubber man. A very close bettle indeed, and it makes me wonder what would have happened if Usopp won.

Probably one of the saddest moment in One Piece, iirc I was literally crying when I watched this for the first time. And OP has definitely some of the greatest tunes I've ever heard in an anime, it really magnifies the epic/tragic/comical parts.

The Naruto fight lasted for like 5 or 6 episodes and I didn't feel anything, while this fight lasted for about 15 minutes and I was on the verge of tears when it ended. There was more emotion, better fighting, music, and dialogue put in to One Piece's fight than the Naruto fight that it's almost insulting to compare the two fights

I'm actually glad Oda put this in the series. That he's showing that a journey isn't all fun and games, and as Zoro puts it: That being a captain/leader isn't as easy or as great as one would think. That the leader has to make hard choices, even if they don't like it; and it might involve a friend/ally of yours . Mostly (if not all) series tend to make being a leader a great/fun thing.

The Water 7 arc was good CD for Luffy. It's not like he knew how to be a Captain and the burdens of one from the beginning of the show. Dude had to go wing it, his only influence being Shanks. He cried and he learned, that being the Captain of a pirate ship was not easy.

Things were said. Eventually Luffy said "If you have a problem with how I do things you can just le..." *Sanji kicks him in the face* Usopp then decides to leave and challenges Luffy to a duel for the ship.

I love this scene. It has me crying and it was sad but damn! It was a huge turning point for the crew. So many things had gone wrong, the ship, Robin, and then this hits Luffy right in the face. Still, as captain he has to bear with it. It really goes to show you that Luffy doesn't just hold the title of captain.

Also, it shows Zoro at his best when not fighting. You get to see that he understands the pain Luffy's feeling and kinda advises him on his actions, like a first mate.

This is one of my favourite scenes in the entire series. Luffy was faced with an ordeal not of physical strength but of emotion and he faced it not because he wanted to but because he was the captain and it had to be done. This is what makes One Piece such a great series. The fighting scenes are incredible but this is what separates it form other anime.
