@lusters101 3 words, to make money.. for drafting and design, making prototypes, making things for school, just making things for fun, if you owned your own company or worked for yourself and had to make your own money ,that is a very useful tool for your buisness. you can look very professional very quickly in a presentation to support a product. not to mension alot of people have the tendancy to want to hold or physicaly see the idea before they invest money..

@Rulerofwax24 I've been thinking about this more and more. If you want to justify it, just keep it in mind for about three months. Every time you do something, consider what you would do in that situation if you had a Makerbot...I've found it is amazing what I suddenly could use it for but never considered because it wasn't an option.

I've used one a larger version of one these before where we had multiple colors that represented where weaknesses were present on a certain structure. Made for an interesting project. Little expensive for personal use though.
