  • What track is this?

  • @antiricer4u "zollhaus" in nuernberg in germany - Macn.de

  • the engine is fixed i will make some new videos this summer very soon. it still have a huge box full of tires. also upgraded to 2,4ghz so no more transmitter issues at last.

the lasted version of this car is the serpent 966. theres also a brushless kit for it. but for the love of the sound i will stick with the 3,5ccm high reving engines :-)

  • Excellent driving!

  • do you have a link?

  • @brushless55 i dont have a link im not even sure if marcar is still around, sorry for not ressponding sooner im still new to you tube,as far as the mark 2 i think it was the predassesor to the vector series and that is what is raced now,or the 996.

  • @1972charger1972 yes the excel mk2, then vector, vector nt, vetec, 950, 960, and now 966

  • @cafeboni hey you forgot the verteq

  • @brushless55 lates version is the serpent 966. just google it

  • i used to race a serpent mark-2 about 10 years ago,it had a mega motor, and the motor was modified by ron davis"i think that was his name"anyway i used to race with m.a.r.c.a.r. here in colo,i miss that type of racing thoes were the good ol days,i dont miss the 100.00 for a set of true tires,if their was a track here where im at id do it again!

  • do they race these here in colorado?

  • im sure they still do,but with the seasonal weather it makes it hard for racers to spend 2000.00 on a hobby.if their was a place to race 8th scale on road i would buy a serpent in a sec!!!!,i miss the racing-i finished second in a b-main once and i was up against some REAL drivers, serpent 996 can be bought for about a g,but i passed due to the lack of serious competors in this part of the country:(

  • they look like alot of fun..

I've never seen them race up close..

is the Vector an old car?

  • 996 vector is the BEST!!!!!!!!!,indy r/c!!!

  • @brushless55 yes like 10years or so.. i think the original vector was 1999

  • @cafeboni

    awesome, thank you!

reason I was wondering is there is one on craigslist for sale and I wanted to know how old it was and how hard parts are to get for them..

  • VERY GOOOD DRIVING

  • damn this makes me miss my serpent days. i was into these back when the RB c5 was the torque monster for the vectors on a short onroad coarse. i remember it all the whip outs, spare parts, over hundred dollars in just tires. buying new tires to just shave 50% of it off to prep for competition... the 1k in support equipment yup yup those were the days

  • Goodness...I had forgotten exactly how quick these cars really are. It's shocking. Cheers!

  • well the last crash killed the lovely engine an good old REX 350 SP. I'll try to fix it. it has more ports than i can count.

  • that track is a killer...very high speed!

  • In Nürnberg oder?

    Ansonsten schönes Video!

  • jap beim MACN

  • you gotta love serpent tho ..theyre in a leauge of their own. i used to race serpent 1/10 and it was the best thing at the track, and on the 1/10 i only serviced it once a season (6 month seasons)

    Henley

  • "used to race serpent 1/10 and it was the best thing at the track". Hardly... ;-) I race a loaded G4S and Novarossi Plus 2, and will kick your arse anytime haha! I think even the RTR with SH will handle better...but that i'm not 100% sure. Dude out of the box Team Magic is The Best

  • haha... but there was no team magic on my track ;-)

  • hehe I Know that...good diali'n man! Keep Up!

  • Anyway Serpent is also a great car!

  • how fast mph wise can these go? these are kool... how much is one of those?

  • mine does over 60mph, 0-60 in under 2sec. thats one hell of a rush driving these cars, but maintenance and driving requires I'd say more than average experience. bought this one at ebay. the driving/maintenance ratio is about 1:10. i still take it out on the track just for fun, i've never competed. you just have to love these cars :-)

  • SIXTY SECONDS ?!?! THATS IT?! i was told it was up to 100 or so ?!

ill agree with the mantinence thats the reason i quit the hobby beecause i was getting a bit old (and getting a real car, a toyota supra twin turbo) sooo i quit but want to get back into it with a REAL car (rc version) and serpent is the way to go :)

  • I'd say you'd have to spend around 400bucks minimum to get one going. and then every 1-2h i need a new set of tires. every once in a while new ballbearings, drivebelts, and gas of course. if nothing else brakes.. i'm always trying to stay out of crashes as i drive for fun only. rather 1-2sec slower than risking anything ;-)

  • dont forget the $900 for the kit, and $300 for the controller etc.

  • mph: 75+

price: probably about $2400 without engine, radio, etc.

  • The vector is an old model from the late 90s. You can get one for $150 without engine, radio and other gear.

  • Hey Nice one! I just freshly built one of these with a NovaMega SX-21 Sport Turbo 7P! I prefer it to the later Serpents especially when I'm done upgrading the rear body mount, rear adjustable swaybar, centax II and two speed to match!

  • mine drives on an old REX engine also 7p. only thing i know about it, it's fast&loud :-)

The "Vector" is getting old.. been out there for about 10years now, and still not noticeably much slower than the new ones. I'll also stick to the much better looking old Porsche962 body, great stuff !! when yours ready to roll, let me know!
