What happened here is that Phelps yelled at Geoff Rowley in front of his peers. Geoff Rowley took that as a sign of disrespect and responded accordingly. If Phelps had the good sense to walk over there and say, "hey guys you ready for the picture?" this confrontation could have been avoided. Human beings are an offspring of primates and yelling at someone while they are in a group of their peers creates loss of face and is a big no no...and yeah, Phelps is a stupid prick with poor social skills.
