Actually, Buell didn't really die, it was reborn as Erik Buell Racing, is independent from HD, and released it's first production bike this year. Google EBR 1190RS

Sadly they don't build any bikes that excite me. They came close with the Buells but killed them before they even had a chance.

Only one brand of bikes is kind of reminiscent of the Russian car industry. One brand and I hope you like black, boxy and old technology. No thanks.

It cracks me up to see people saying that all Harleys are slow cruisers...mine is a screamin dynaglide and before I got it...I spent 6 years riding a ninja 1100. You should check out my vid "chasin ritter" on my channel. Im not tryin to say that it can corner like a sportbike...but it is far from slow. It doesnt matter what banner you ride...It's all the same wind. Ride free everyone!

I ride a Suzuki and catch crap all the time (jokingly of course) but mine is in the shop less and it's a 1400 so.... I always laugh and shake my head when I see people on a Harley (NICE bikes but....) and they have a jacket that says Harley, a doorag that says Harley, a shirt that says Harley and I chuckle to myself that at least I remember what kind of bike I ride without the reminder of having it all over my body! lol

Ya My uncle is big time into harleys he paints them and all that. but him and a lot of the guys he does custom jobs for are way to into the name brand. I think if more people started to ride other bikes harley might catch up to the rest of the worlds bikes. I love american muscle.. but harley is the sickley weakling of our family.. its sad when a 50cc skooter can out run a harley. :)

@epicfailureinc they had good powerful bikes in the showroom called Buell but Harley pulled the plug on them. Too bad as I was looking at a couple.

HD does not realize that some people just aren't into cruisers and some of the HD owners have it in their head that there should only be one brand. It is THAT attitude that brought on this bit. Funny thing is, having just one brand sucks. Look at Russia and the Lada car. Boring.

@icemakk the buell wasstarting to look promising but then it floppped. I think it was because the harley fans kinda burnt out the people that would enjoy owning the buell. You know whats funny is I got my wife a rebel 450 which happens to be the bike harley sued honda over. they said it was to harley and I guess they own the rights to the sound. I mean how lame. I just wish there was an american bike that was good, fast, and afordable. also doesnt break down weekly...lol

I ride a 2001 Suzuki Intruder 1500 and most Harley guys wave to me. The only ones I've gotten attitude from are the part-time Harley riders in all their Harley leathers and such. I think they use it as a reason to discriminate...a total misunderstanding of the biker attitude.

I ride a Yamaha Sport bike, and there is 1 type of rider who refuses to wave / acknowledge other riders on the road : Harley Riders.

Just because you pay 3 times as much for half the performance and a 1/4 of the reliability doesn't mean your better, it's quite the opposite :)

My dirt bike makes more power than most harleys.
