  • This young man performed 2 separate Bo Katas in one performance. Why?

  • Hi I am a Sensei: Just wanted to say this is very hard work put into these kids. They are training true martial arts... not that flashy gymnast stuff you see so much now. I bow to their Sensei for such a good job! Oss!

  • That's great for his age! I study Shorin-ryu (Reihokan) out here in Okinawa. What is the name of the dojou out in Oceanside?

  • @shftyswtchblade2 The name of our dojo is Champion Eyes

  • It's amazing to watch his progress. Children should learn self defense. This is giving him self confidence, discipline, concentration, and a belief in himself. This will carry over to academic subjects also.

  • very cool i also am a blue belt

  • they say the students are a reflection of the teacher. this a prime example. truly hope he is continuing to stick to it! osu!!

  • wow just wow... *thumbs up*

  • Very nice...I know shodans that have trouble with a Bo kata very similar called Matsu Higa No Kon...so I am very happy to see young kids interested in Kobudo...more traditional Kobudo that is, and Shorin Ryu keeps Kobudo pretty traditional from what I know of!

  • very nice

  • Very good progression with handling the bo. He's definitely shown a lot of improvement. I do Shorin Ryu Karate as well, but that looks like Bo Shodan and Bo Nidan put together for one Kata.

  • Better basic stances and form then I've seen in the fast fancy dances other more mature competitors have offered.

  • Good for Skylar to keep training, and working towards improvement. You can see the progress.

    Keep up the good work.

  • what belt is this kid, green or black i couldnt see properly

  • This video shows his progress in several belt stages. He is currently a blue belt. Thanks for your comment.

  • he does very well for a little guy, for an adult even. You are not far from Sensei Yamashita to help you if you need him. Skylar's instructors must be so proud.

  • That is incredibly.Lovely! I have not been seeing such work with children

Bow for the teacher. You are from where.

  • Our school is in Oceanside California. Thanks for the kind words.
