  • 21 years later I am still listening to the music of video games from my past.Ha, awesome.

  • Although the SNES had a better music chip, there's a certain hipness to the sounds on the Megadrive that just rules. No better example than this game, thanx for posting!

  • This great game took me hours to finish (when I could finish) in my childhood.

  • Seriously III/Super II deserves one of these :D

It could be pretty hard to decide the tracks though, would be for me :/

  • My favourite soundtrack of all-time!

  • @74pbg You have 4 different magic techniques in the game, one of them is the "long jump" magic whichs allows you to jump much higher.

  • The Revenge of Shinobi is one of my favorite video games of all time!!!...

  • Shinobi is my favorite ninja of all time. The Shinobi games on Sega Genesis are also among the best games for the system.

  • hey Garudoh this is a request--could you upload one for Shinobi III? I think you're doing a fantastic job and I wouldn't normally ask, but you do have revenge of shinobi and other genesis classics like gunstar heroes, so if you could that would be awesome!

  • This game 's music is so good even the ocean dances to it. Seriously. If you've played through this game or watched a playthrough of it, you know what I' m talking about.

  • Shinobi III is the master of all Shinobis

  • The thing about the console war of my shiz, the sega genesis (best console ever created imo), that REALLY pissed me off comparing it to snes is when ppl said it had a POOR sound chip or not as good as snes, yet u see and hear one of THE best ninja games ever created with one of THE best soundtracks for a game with a sound the snes WISHES it could produce. graphically this was art as well for its time.

  • Genesis was better in general, but when they made the same game like mortal kombat2 or street fighter 2, genesis got owned. I think Genesis had better original games and overall better music by far.

  • The player probably had slo mo on..

Dude i freakin' love this music. The liberal use of the slap bass is fantastic. The edgy FM instrument programming.. everything. Totally classic. This game was so much better than ninja gaiden it's not even funny.

  • man the intro to this game always got me pumped up! with that lighting striking and bad ass lookin ninja it's just one of the best games ever.for me anyways

  • Terrific music.

  • Gah that last boss is insanely hard!

  • this is bringin back too many forgotten memories,

  • This player must have played the game a 100 times.

  • i know, its like he knows where every single badguy in the game is, he's like a machine, its cool watching someone else soo good jjust breeze through the game.

  • never get to finish this game. stuck at the maze at stage 8 before the finak boss. damn

  • Anyone else waist Ninja powers by firing them off in order to yell at an appropriate time in one of the songs?

  • yes!!! HAHA :D

  • Wow that Chinatown tune brings back memories...thanks for posting.

  • I think this game was some kind of a turning point for a lot of game developers, wehre they figured how much power there really was in the Mega Drives sound chip.

I remember hooking my Mega Drive up to the Stereo just to listen to it.

  • how come the music was so sic in this game and others like the sonic series, but then look at mortal kombat 1. that game's whole presentation was garbage and the sound!? the game would have been better made on mute

  • Lazyness, untalented people, bad programmers, budget ... many reasons, I guess.

  • From what I've heard, laziness seems unlikely. Game studios work their employees hard.

  • One answer:

    Superman 64

  • Ouch. I still might have a point, though. The poor fools making that game could've worked their hearts out, but if they only had half the staff they needed, the results would still be crap.

  • Hehe ... got you there, hm ;)

But, hey, my comment wasn't meant to discredit the gaming companies: It's the same as everywhere: some people work their ass off and good isn't good enough for them and some don't.

You can clearly see how some programmers / studios have rushed out stuff in a lot of examples. And some work really hard, but aren't really creative enough ... it's just a fact of live ...

  • kool vid......shinobi roxxxx!

  • this player is actually a god

  • LOL!!! I feel u

  • Nah, he's a speed-runner. He's good but a "good" Shinobi player to me doesn't ignore 90% of the enemies but dispatches them quickly without getting hit

  • damn straight

  • Chinatown is the best song! When i was still a kid, when i thought of China, this song allways poped on my mind

  • One of Yuzo Konshiro's finest.

Favs: The Shinobi, Make Me Dance, Like A Wind, Ninja Step, China Town, Terrible Beat, Over the Bay, Labyrinth, Ninja Master, My Lover

  • I never appreciated Like A Wind until recently. It was pretty intense.

  • Never played any of the Shinobo games much, but here he reminds me of the ninja from Captain Commando.

  • Revenge has some terrific level design, and pretty catchy choons (tunes).

  • I remember playing this at a friends house and I was jealous that he had it.

  • I love the music in this game.

  • Wow, the level designer really knew his job.

This is some of YK's best

  • Ah hell yeah i had this game in the 6 pak game cartridge and i never got past the part where your in the freeway or i think it was the army place but other then that i F in loved this game
