  • nice video...........

  • Cannot stop a quick restart...unless there is more than just a player down...if that team quickly restarts then play continues until next stoppage.

  • @BuffaloSportsFan Sorry but you are wrong. The referee clearly was going to give a card. He should have blown the whistle and stopped play. Once he allowed the play to restart he now has lost his opportunity to card the player. It became a ceremonial restart once he made the decision to card the player. Players DO NOT decide whether a dfk is a quick start the ref does.

  • @soccerrefwilcox Since when has a referee not been allowed to go back and card a player? A referee is well within his right to allow a quick free kick, let the play develop and then afterwards assuming he remembered the correct player who caused the original infringement, card him. It works the exact same way as an advantage. That aside i do agree it is not for a player to decide if quick free kick is taken but it is well within there right to try it if the ref pulls it back he pulls it back

  • @viking1659 i hate to burst your bubble viking but if the referee was going to card the player it HAD to be right then and there because that was the next stoppage in play so the player could be carded. once the ball was back in play and the referee allowed this to happen he cannot go back and card the player since this is now a new play. if the referee wanted to give a card the ONLY time he could do it would have been at that stoppage while not allowing a quick kick to be taken.

  • referee should whistle it back, caution the defense player and let offence team re-kick the free kick

  • any one who plays soccer dosent know what a real sport is, and that is a fact.

  • @relztem1 that's the most ignorant thing to say. you might as well say "football is the manliest sport because we wear the biggest pads"

  • ball may have been dead, but teammate took the ball, consituting a "quick kick", ref did the right thing by allowng play to go on.

  • It's hard to tell with no audio. It seems to me like the ref made the call and he was going to give the player a yellow card. The other team played it fast and the ref allowed the play to go on. Nothing wrong with that. After the play ended, he should have still given the yellow card to the player that made the foul. The video doesn't show that part.

  • @catero01 no, u can't give a caution after play has been restarted like that. the ref clearly wanted the players to wait and should have whistled them back.

  • @catero01 Well he can't do that

  • sikk

  • referee fault...

  • The ball is not out of play... only if the ref stops the game is the ball dead /or if it goes out of bounds (Law 9)... The ref is not obligated to call an infraction "immediately"(Law 5)...

  • nice video

  • Very odd. The ref didn't make a call and the ball was dead. Why on earth would he let play continue? Make the call, give the card, direct free kick, and add one minute to the referee's time... it's basic ref'ing 101.

  • cool

  • i went to that game!!!!!!!1

  • i was there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • cool

  • nice

  • nice take down

  • should have stopped play to give the card

  • lol, why would he think that it's okay to run around with a yellow card in his hand?

  • I hope he came back at the next dead ball and gave the defender a yellow card. I'm ok with the advantage being allowed.
