Sonic 4 Episode I - Untouchable achievement

I just got that achievement. I haven't been shaking this much since I fought the same boss in Sonic 2.

This achievement is one of those bullshit achievements only the super-hardcore-thumbs-bleeding sort of people like myself will eventually get. If you CASUALLY like gaming or Sonic, then move along -- there's far too much suffering for you to see here.

(On a separate note, 4th boss's giant fake Robotnik ball is such a bullshit luck-of-the-draw way to make or break that fight.)

goes electric but ones that happens...things get shitty. Really shitty when he fires the little laser balls.  I can set myself up perfectly but one of those fucking balls will come out of nowhere and hit me. I've gotten to the final attack just once now...and the floor gave way before I could hit him. Ugh so frustrating...I'm going to beat this though, I WILL BEAT THIS! I hope Episode 2 doesn't use Sonic 3 bosses in an achievement like this...ugh.

Oh my god I have fought him so many times now...probably about 50 on the final boss and over 200 times retrying this thing. If it's not a stupid mistake on the second and third boss, it's usually the fourth boss that gets me. Until I learned how to avoid those ball things, now I can get by him most of the time (unless he throws a cheap combo like a big ass ball then a spike ball in such proximity that I can't avoid them). It's been like that since Sonic 1 after beating the final boss, Sonic 2 when running to get Robotnik until he jumps to the Death Egg robot, and at the final boss of Sonic & Knuckles.

You don't have to let his rocket arm hit the ground. You can hit it in mid air (while its dropping) and it will fly into him.

Just got the trophy..and boy i felt accomplished after spending an hour doing it..i think the boss before the giant robot is the hardest when he throws the balloons at you..good thing they didnt put the first part of that boss on this level because it would have been impossible

Just got this trophy a few hours ago! Didn't know you could stand that close to the robot when he fires his arms off either, but you CAN do a homing attack on the top part of his arm when it falls out of the sky instead of waiting for it to land and then hitting it 3 times. ^^

I remember having trouble on the 4th boss when he chunks those huge yellow ballons at you, until I learned you can dodge them by either being close to him when he first throws it, or moving all the way to the left side.

@habbototaladdict45 Oh, the "achivement" thing was a slip-up. I don't even have an Xbox. I'm a PS3 player too. You can bounce on the Casino Street boss three times before he flies up, then spin dash up the wall to finish him before he even uses electricity. It's a little risky because you'll get shocked if you're too slow, but it's very quick. If you want to take your time, just avoid the spikes, and hide safely under the bumpers when he starts spinning around.

You can actually get a good 3 or 4 hits in on Robotnik right when he starts smoking. You don't have to run off right away. That's less hits you need later when he is firing laser beams and fireballs at you.

@st4nd4us Yep, I've retried a dozen times but I got it; just press start the moment you get screwed (which I like to call it), and hit retry. Better than exiting the whole thing and pick the level again!! I hate it when some games force you do it like that!

Heh yeah, I found that little trick for the Casino boss on my first playthrough about an hour ago. Great run you made without taking any damage. Something tells me I'm going to have to be at this for a few more hours.. er, or days. :S
