Wow.this takes me back i remember Swaggart on t.v. back in the late 70's ...growing up in the Pentecostal Church and getting saved at 12yrs old i wanted to be a preacher or evangelist like Swaggart in fact i think its safe to say that among Pentecostals boys at the time he was the standard..the preacher you wanted to emulate..Mom had ALOT of the LPs and tapes back in the day..still love the fact that Swaggart preaches the Gospel and Christ's forgiveness in these "watered down" gospel days.

We don't have to sin after we are saved, but the Bible say's IF we sin, we have an advocate with the Father and He knows how to forgive sin to the backslider. I am sure Jimmy Swaggart didn't all of a sudden say he was going out and sin, but Satan has many tricks up his sleeve, especially one called pornography and Jimmy probably in a low moment of his life he was ensnared. They say pornography is a hard thing to get out of your mind once you have seen it. I feel Jimmy is forgiven.

I think Brother Jimmy is the best preacher I have ever heard! I know he's had his troubles in the past, but he has overcome those troubles and continues to preach the old fashioned Gospel. Had it not been for his misdeeds of 1988 and 1991, he'd be looked in a better light than even Billy Graham. He's a treasure to be treasured.

Also, people LOVE to see a preacher fall from Grace. They seem to get some sort of sick pleasure out of it. Guess what? Preachers are human too and sometimes they make mistakes... sometimes BAD mistakes. And think about it. Your minister is always there to call when you have trouble but who can the minister call when he has trouble? He has to be so careful because everything he says to one parishoner may be repeated to the entire church. Can you image the sort of stress that must put on him??

God used him mightily in the 80's and I was just a teeny-bopper then for the most part until late 80's. I went twice to see him. ONce in Greensboro Coliseum 2. Raliegh Civic Center, N.C. with church.
