He fulfilled the requirement of God's law by keeping them perfectly and being the perfect sacrifice (spotless lamb) as required by God's law. So that we who believe in Him will not suffer the full penalty owed to God for our sins. As for consequences, we are warned about disobeying God even as believers. God rules.

Oh my goodness, there's been a whole conversation since I posted my comment. I'm not good at this youtube thing. The thing is that Jesus is God, and therefore he is perfect and eternal/infinite. So he COULD take infinite sins upon himself and deal with them. Smarter people than me have written entire books about the atonement. All I know is that I now have a relationship with God and have found a way to truly change and break through bad behaviours/sins that would otherwise have hold of me.

Sin really does have consequences, on ourselves, and others, and even the environment. That's why God hates it. I don't think it's totally about God getting angry and punishing (although I do think that justice is important.) I think Jesus actually defeated sin. Now that Jesus has dealt with sin we can be friends with God.

He fulfilled the requirement of God's law by keeping them perfectly and being the perfect sacrifice (spotless lamb) as required by God's law. So that we who believe in Him will not suffer the full penalty owed to God for our sins. As for consequences, we are warned about disobeying God even as believers. God rules.

So how many of those folks have any relations alive today to take place in polls about who believes in God? Not many. Doesn't matter because NONE of them are alive today themselves. we will never understand unless God opens ones eyes,or will we want to. We are slaves to sin and obey it lovingly. We hate the real God of the bible. We make ourselves gods of our own live and dare him or anyone else to say a word about it. unless we see the wickedness of our sin we can never see the lovelyness of the Christ.

Oh my goodness, there's been a whole conversation since I posted my comment. I'm not good at this youtube thing. The thing is that Jesus is God, and therefore he is perfect and eternal/infinite. So he COULD take infinite sins upon himself and deal with them. Smarter people than me have written entire books about the atonement. All I know is that I now have a relationship with God and have found a way to truly change and break through bad behaviours/sins that would otherwise have hold of me.

@RonMaday Does God have self esteem issues? Does he NEED to be worshiped to feel good about himself? Why should i be a Slave to him? Why would God "The Father" create Man (You & Me) only to have us live our lives the way HE wants us to? I know i want my children to grow up to be their own person, exploring the wonders & experiences this state of being has to offer. It seems VERY strange to me that God would would go through all this just to have his ego patted.

Because there is a way that seems right to a man that leads to death (Proverbs 14:12) God is more willing to let you do what your corrupt nature desires but ultimately they will lead to your destruction and your judgment in Hell because your sins are crimes before God and He is that Holy and perfect and we are that sinful and depraved.

NO ONE is a good person (Romans 3:10-12;23) but EVERYONE is a depraved, wretched, evil sinner before a Holy, perfect, and just God. Our sins are crimes (1 John 3:4) and the lost person sees themselves as "good enough" to stand before God. Good people DON'T go to Hell but everyone has God's wrath upon them for their crimes. Hell is God's prison for criminals. But Christ died FOR us and gives us HIS perfect life to come to God

Yes many people are more moral but compare their morality with perfection it will not stand. Many people are not cold blooded murderers, but Jesus says if you're angry with anyone you're a murderer at heart (Matthew 5:21-22) One sin is all it takes to go to Hell but Jesus died in our place to forgive all sin past present and future

i havent read the bible coz i dont like to read but i have seen an animated movie showing the concept on christianity and jesus and all.. as far as jesus is concerned, i think he was a great man and if u tell me to bow down to him, i gladly would. we could learn so much from him. but when it comes to the whole story of jesus dying for us and we are sinners, i just dont buy that. how does just getting angry once, deserve hell?? the punishment should be in proportion to the crime.

@govegetarian100 yeah i can understand how it seems harsh. But I always think of it a bit like the 'butterfly effect.' You know, from little things, big things grow. Sin really does have consequences, on ourselves, and others, and even the environment. That's why God hates it. I don't think it's totally about God getting angry and punishing (although I do think that justice is important.) I think Jesus actually defeated sin. Now that Jesus has dealt with sin we can be friends with God.

I beg you to watch a video on here called "What is Justification?" by Kevin Williams off a user called IllBeHonest. Yes, the foulest who trusts in Christ's death on their behalf are forgiven because He paid the debt for us. But the true believer realizes their evil faults, repents (Turns from sin) and trusts Christ and are made new (2 Corinthians 5:17)

i saw the video that you recommended but i could not find any logic in his reasoning. eg.. if i owe u 10 dollars.. mr X says that he will pay u that amount that i owe u and so i m released. taht way he takes up debts of 10 ppl on himself and releases all those ppl.. but now Mr X owes u 100 dollars.. He cannot just pay u 10 dollars and say all other ppl are free..
