09 villain looks more intense and menacing

87 villain off as just a regular guy, making less suspense

09 has more kids in the family rather than just one, kind of a crap family

87 theres a bunch of filler scenes of the last victim's brother scrambling around looking for the villain

09 includes the scenes where villain meets victims (in the supermarkets) important scenes

09 has a better ending where villain gets away to do it all again

No, sorry, this is insipid compared to the original (1987 It's quite obvious that Terry O'Quinn's performance was genuinely disquieting to say the least. This seems contrived at best, completely devoid of any visceral body-shock horror. The original was successful because (1): it had budget restraints, yet never lost it's direction; and(2): because it married comedic timing with spine tingling terror. Jill Schoelen did a great job, too
