WTF Tamil Telugu - the sound of Hindustani language is unsurpassed in sweetness, though of course, song has strong south Indian overtones making its flavour more spicy ! :)))
it is a tune from a tamil song. this version is equally nice as well. if you type "vizhiyile" in youtube, you will find the video of the tamil song with the same tune.
The first song was in kannada "Jotheyale" picturized on Geetha and Sankar Nag(twin brother of Ananth Nag - the director) and it was again featured in tamil "vizhiyile" picturized on Mohan and Nalini and last version was in Hindi "Jane Do Na" in the movie "Cheeni Kum" picturized on Amitabh and Tabu.
All the version of songs were composed by Illayaraja and tamil and kannada version were sung by SPB and Janaki. The hindi version was sung by Shreya Ghosal. Youtube has all the songs.
Actually, this came out first as a Kannada song in the 80's Kannada film Geetha..it was called Jotheyali Jothe Jotheyali. The music director of Geetha was Ilaiyaraja. Then, later in the tamil film Nooravathu Naal, for which Ilaiyaraja composed the music, the same melody was used in the song 'Vizhiyile mani Vizhiyile'.
nice video................
