I also cry with happiness that I have had the oppertunity to practice Buddhism with President Ikeda!!! I thank him from the bottom of my heart for his compation to travel and spresd this Buddhism for world peace. Some may disagree like the Nicherin sect but the proof is in the pudding. They did not bring this Buddhism to the United States. President Ikeda did. He followed his mentor's dream to reach out all over the world. I thank him for it from the bottom of my heart!! I think this song is so powerful, I remember being at a concert with my mom and i was a teenager and we went to see the "this is america" performance, my mom was not a member , I asked her to come with me when I became one, It was a great evening. don;t believe the hype chanting is the VERY BEST thing you could do. if you don't believe me write me and I will tell you at least 10 experiences.
@xxxkazuxxxkazu ,i respect that each person has it's own opinion,however,I do suggest you to judge by your own experience rather than reading something which is from another person point of view.I've been a staunch Nichiren Buddhism practitioner and Soka Gakkai is not as what they claimed at that website.

I remember singing this during a cultural show many years ago when I was part of the choir/backdrop.

Makiguchi , Ikeda himself,have never said just a word against fascism and nationalism.
Toda started to chat and chat against nuclear wheapons just because Japan couldn't have them any longer.
