Yup - you issue a lot of very short rapid non-connected instructions about nothing in particular. These are ometimes called non-sequeters. Its the delivery thats important though, not many people can pull it off well. The brain can only actually process one thought at a time, therefore if you give it to many things to think about, like Windoze, it crashes !!!
"Hello, we're filming a magic show and will give you a thousand pounds if you pretend to fall down asleep right now. Stay asleep 'til you hear the phone beep. Ok, sleep!"
And then, on TV, you only show the ones who comply.
Once the person answers, he immediately bombards them with a rapid set of confusing instructions and facts. He does this for several minutes without giving them a break, then follows by telling them to fall asleep. They are then releaved that they can understand the command and react by doing what they are told.
I have done the same one with the track 5705 by City boy from eons ago, which i reckon has better timing. I am always doing Derren stuff I love his work.
