  • Grand master???? Why are his stamp kicks mid section and high section, Look in g choi's tkd manual. There low section and always have been. Hence stamping kick. I did enjoy the vid tho.

  • Oh, please. He's just showing off, don't you see? And he has a good right to do so.

  • wtf is gtf?^^

  • GTF stands for Global Taekwon-do Federation

  • In the memory of Grand Master Park Jung Tae, the father of Taekwondo GTF. ^^

  • General Choi is the actual founder

  • I still don't get all the bouncing shit through out the form. Most do it that way these days but all it does is make them look foolish.

  • fuk u

  • @phish6 i loved watching this vid.. awesome.. but are we supposed to bounce or not????

  • long ago when Tae KWon Do was pieced together there was no "bouncing". I think after Choi was kicked out and moved to Canada (I think) and started WTF, sometime after that the bouncing got put in. I don't know if that came from him or someone else he worked with.

My instructors' instructor got his rank in Korea from a Master Park, so proudly I am only 5th generation from Choi and about a million light years away from as far as skill. I have a few video's in my name here to check out if youlike

  • you need to do some research on tkd history my friend

  • I dont claim to be an expert on TKD, and I have done a lot of research years ago, and one thing that is common is there are many versions of how TKD came about. Most wont even mention Choi getting booted out for taking TKD to North Korea. As I stated this is what I believe had happend and can not find any supported facts to it. TKD did not have the bouncing bit during my intructors' instructor training in Korea with Mr. Park. But I have seen clips of Choi doing it years later.

  • @phish6 Gen Choi went into exile in Canada he was never kicked, out of tkd. How could that happen? He was founder of tkd. He was exiled because he wanted to spread tkd to North Korea. ITF was founded by Gen Choi in 1966. WTF was established by South Korean govt. in 1977 as a rival organization. WTF techniques are very different from ITF techniques. That is not a critique, just a fact. The bouncing, "sine wave", seen above is the most obvious difference. Po Eun uses pressing kicks

  • @caribbeanpriceclub , But all systems of TKD have one thing in common,,,,"BASICS" doesn't matter if it's ITF<WTF

  • @caribbeanpriceclub Your history is off. Gen. Choi left Korea in 1972 because of friction between him and President Park. He did not go to north Korea until 1980. The WTF was formed in 1973.

  • ok i just did po eun.. im not bouncing..so i am not going to start now, although it looks awesome when an expert does it..

  • wait im wrong... noob!

  • he made a mistake .. after the second knife hand thing to his left , his left hand shud of done the inwards punch , he used his right ....

  • I should clarify...promoted to 8th degree not Master.

  • Everyone is human, and noone is above criticism. He is a man who happened to practice Tae Kwon Do, not a god.

I personally don't mind criticism. That's how you get better.

  • It is not the criticisum that bothers me personally. This man has passed away and left a wonderful legacy. If you question a pioneer who has tought these patterns for General Choi all over the world. Why not just take a moment to watch this man who was demonstrating at the age of 55-60 and enjoy?

  • your rite he aint above critism BUT he taugh the ppl who taugh the ppl who taugh YOUR instructors, so if u want to critise him u mite wanna look back at all the changes the patterns have gone through! he taught THE ORIGINAL PATTERNS

  • Grand Master Scott McNeely's Wife. GMP was our Instructor. GM McNeely was the only person GMP ever promoted to Master. I tested in Canada under GMP right after 9/11 for my 6th degree.

  • oh sorry miss i didnt mean to be cheeky, just theres loads of critism towards GM park on here and it annoys me.

im confused tho, thot master suritzu was the highest grade in GTF (well no anymore)

    soooo confused?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! wb plz

  • How the GM Scott McNeely pass from 8 Dan to 9 Dan in 4 years????

  • Grand Master is a rank that not everyone will achieve. At the 9th degree level "Grand Master" Can only be achieved if requested by a "Grand Master 9th Degree" Grand Master McNeely was asked to test by Grand Master Kong ,Young Il and tested in front of the founding fathers of Teakwon Do headed up by Nam Tae Hi, Grand Master, Grand Master Kong Young Il , Grand Master Cho Min Sung, Grand Master Kong Yong Bo and many others in Las Vegas.

  • I can appreciate your question because Grand Master McNeely is the youngest Grand Master ever promoted to this rank by the founding fathers for this coveted rank. A physical exam was not required at this rank but Grand Master McNeely did a full testing along with 50 of his 4th degree and above students. If you have any questions please feel free to contact Grand Master Kong young Il or Grand Master McNeely at any time, they are always available in person, by phone or email.

  • Thank for you answer.

  • to dallasSmac

soz it taken so long to reply, can i get an email for gm mcNeely?? im totally confused about this whole convo, if u dont mind that is miss.

  • The higest in GTF is 9th Dan and i it only for 1 person in world

  • That's wrong. There can be more than one 9th Dan in the world

  • I WAS THERE when this all started going down and GM Park was about to die from liver cancer. So, my nephew tested for 1st Dan in Hot Springs and Master McNeely was "to be testing soon..." and when it was all said and done, GM Park had died and GM McNeely was promoted. But, I guarantee you this, he'll go toe-to-toe with anyone in Tae Kwon Do and was even in K.I. in 1977 because I saw the story. He ain't no pretend tae kwon do guy, he's by far, THE BEST TAE KWON DO-ist I've ever seen.

  • We are all better people for having known this humble and inspiring gentleman. He is missed everyday.

  • GMP checked himself out of the Hospital against his doctors orders and presented GM McNeely his Masters Degree in Little Rock Arkansas. His wife Mrs. Park was so worried about him on the way over from Canada she asked him "What if you die? He responded...Then it will be doing what I love to do spreading TaekwonDo and I will be with my wife." The passed away shortly after this trip.

  • the quote on ireland GTF page is the quote fae that. its him talking to mrs park he`s dying and says "if i die on your lap on the way to taekwon-do, thats good enough"

    thats Dedication!!

  • Yes, I know what the quote was... Mrs. Park told me what he said as they arrived from the airport in Little Rock, Arkansas after he said it. The quote was made to me. I agree with you 100% he was a wonderful man and his stories will be missed. GMP's knowledge of TKD and the history that he lived is why we are where we all are today. He helped shape the furture of TKD that it is today.

  • who are you???? and where u fae???

u say there mrs park told u, so im guessing u know her pretty well.

    wb plz

  • What is sad is someone would correct a Grand Master an Pioneer of TaekwonDo. GMP was and is a inspiration to all of us up until the day he died he taught and spread the legacy of TaekwonDo.

  • GMP is respected among the pioneers of TKD as well as his Jrs all over the world.

  • GM Park Jung-Tae was a grate person and worked very hard for Taekwon-Do. May he Rest in peace.

  • unfortuantly i never got to meet GM park ive meet mrs park, mr park is dedicated but GM park dedicated his life to the art. for anyone who dares critize GM park U need to look over your tenets and think deeply. within GTF we have an oath one part of it says "respect rank and senior" GM park will be remembered for ever within everyones heart and mind everytime jook-am tul is preformed they will teach GM park life story.

  • he will forever be rembered where as we all wont be in 100years GM parks lessons and memory will be as strong then as today noone will know who we are our names will mean nothing his will mean honour, sacrafice + dedication!

    "long live the peoples master"

his memory remains so long as 1 person remains faithfull to his teachings and faithfull to the tenets

  • grand master park jung tae dedicated his life to TKD he actually created many more tuls for GTF along with teaching the original tuls! GM park quote (to his wife not long before he died while he was lying dying) " if i die on your lap on the way to TKD, thats good enough for me" you tell me that is not 100% dedication!

  • ok, all of you critiquing this gm's form need to shut your mouths. what gives you the right to say what is right and wrong with his form? everyone does there forms a bit different than everyone else. this is a gm who has obviously put his time and effort(more than any of you have i bet)into his martial art and everyone of you needs to shut the hell up and show some respect to you higher rank, and if u dont trian in tkd, then u have NO right at all to critize a grand master of the art!

  • This is a true statement...Even when you watch the ITF DVD's they differ from the ITF Encyclopedias. I have trained with the pioneers of TKD and they differ a bit. But that is what Art is about. Not "1" person made these tuls up but the pioneers. Who are we to correct them, when they invented them?

  • i found some of GM Park mistake. # 3 movement should be press kick and low. #8-#11 should be consecutive

  • Not consecutive: continuous!!

But this changue is from 1996

  • I also do a low-seciton side kick on this form as well. I also do the three breath form (the old method), only taking three breaths. One at the start followed by the two breathing drills you see in the form.

  • He is one of the greatest Taekwondo players of all time. He was the Gen's right hand!

  • yes thanks ive got a few vids somewere i can post but thanks for saying yes,the thing is its not a variation of the tul its actually a mistake as the tul is set in the encyclopedia how to be done and if he wished to change some techs he should have renamed it after the changes.I trained with GMP a few times in the early 80s back then he was god so i was a bit disappointed to watch this. ah its a pressing kick not a low kick.ok thanks again

  • a1drifter is right the kicks are pressing kicks he should have known this surely as he was an itf master before he formed gtf,i have a vid of me doing po-eun somewhere i will find it and post it here if its ok with you gizmo

  • No problem at all, do it if you wish so. I personally feel that it's just a certain variation of Po-Eun typical for GM Park - patterns do change from time to time, and watching TKD Tuls performed by different masters over the years shows many differences (BTW I do a low section kick there in Po-Eun as well ;-)

  • @GizmoTKD ive noticed different masters have a tendency to change techniques as well. sometimes because they forget, so they decide to take it upon themselves to change it. for instance gae baek- where i go, the X arm block is above the head, the twist kick is more exaggerated, and you turn to the left for the scooping block. and instead of just one side kick at the beginning, its a low middle high. and we dont do sine wave :P

  • shouldnt he know the kicks are low section??how old was he and was he ill at this time?

  • Thanks for uploading this file!
