  • In 2008 and 2009 we imported 490,000 h-1b workers. Since there WERE no new engineering jobs thats half a million american engineers now tossed to the curb

  • Stuart Anderson = Joseph Goebbels

  • Mr Stewart if the H1b pimp think doesnt work out I suggest you should go back to kidnapping black workers for the plantation.

  • I don't have any online "friends" - they are all in real space. Aside from the ad homimen attack on me , do you have anything to add to the H1B debate?

  • Yes, I do - many. But, none of them H1Bs.

  • H1Bs are the indentured servants of the 21st century. We're not moving forward. We're moving backwards.

  • Marketable Skills needed to get an H1B Visa:

    1. Low salary

    2. Indian Origin

    3. Fake Resume

  • Don't for get:

    1. Doesn't speak English.

    2. Cant figure out how car doorhandles work.

    3. Lives in 1 bedroom apt with ten people.

  • @linuxguru1968 Don't be a hater sir.. This is an open world and the fittest get to survive.. Nobody is stealing your job... its just that you are not competent enough to fight for it.. even you ask all H1B to leave the U.S., you would still blame your fault of not getting a job on someone else :) Peace. I am just voicing my opinion

  • @stillwaterusa My point is that H1Bs are NOT the "fittest" - to use your term. Most H1Bs earn less than $50K/year some as low as $9/hour. The "fittest" or like the lobbyist like to call them "the best and brightest" account for only 5-10% of H1Bs - not to mention the fact that the biggest users of H1B are the Indian domestic outsourcing companies - doing routine works - like most athletes know - does not make them "fittest"!

  • @linuxguru1968 I dont blame H1Bs - please point out where I have placed the blame on them personally. The problem is the use of international labor arbitrage to drive down wages and shorten career for the corporate bottom line. This is choking off innovation of native born people in the US.

  • And, I forget:

    4. Might be carrying antibiotic resistant infectious diseases!

  • LIES.First of all the numbers are way off. While officially they only have issued 85,000 visas a year since 2004, they almost always go over the limit. Secondly there are many many groups that are exempt from these caps so in truth they issue 200-500,000 visas a year.

In 1998 there were 4.5 million IT jobs in america. In 2008 there were 4.5 million IT jobs in america.SINCE that time we have ISSUED over SIX MILLION H-1B visas.

  • Theoretcially, the H1B cap only applies to FOR PROFIT companies; for non-profits like hospitals - there is no cap!

  • Lie 4: ...requirement is a BS degree or higher...." He's misleading here again; that applies to the 20K on top of the 65K in the yearly quota. The top users of H1B are the workers brought in by Indian body shops and 90% of them have short cycle or trade school certifications not fully minted BS degrees comparable to US universities. Most H1B earn less than $50 per hear that well below the entry level for BS of $70-80K per year.

  • Lie 3: "..less than 1/10 of 1 percent of the US labor force..." He using that to distract from the fact that over a third of the tech employee at Microsoft, Oracle, IBM, HP and other tech lobbying for increase in H1B are guest workers. If they could offshore these jobs they would; H1B is being used to displace Americans.

  • Lie 2: "...its the only way for an employer to hire an outstanding foriegn student..." The is the S visa class for rare gifted workers as well a many academic visa classes. H1B was never intended to bring in the best and brightest. It was reformulated in 1990 to bring in temporary workers during the IT build out of the early 1990s.

  • Lie 1: "..they have to pay comparable to an American..." There is NO prevailing wage provision. According to the LCA database the AVERAGE wage of and H1B is $50/year with some qualified at low as $9/hour. Overwhelmingly, the biggest users of H1B are the Indian outsourcing companies for the purpose of domestic outsourcing. Only about 5-10% of H1Bs are doing cutting edge R&D like he states.
