  • YOU AIN'T NO FRIENDS OF MINE! >__<

  • Really one of the best albums of that era. Not a SINGLE BAD SONG on the whole record. Truly amazing recording.

  • Graham Maby is THE best bass player.

  • Great riffs, music, stories, jump and jive. Love Joe.

  • "Those happy couples aint no friends of mine." < aint that the truth!

  • "til the Time that I can do my Dancin' with a Partner..."

    =)

  • Joe is one of the best at every thing he did

  • MAN! This takes me back to my high school days!

  • Happy V-Day, guys!

    Boom boom boom boom boom

  • What a songwriter!

  • still as good as the first time

  • I like the Guttermouth version better.

  • "You ain't no friends of mine!"......

  • If history were just and fair, 'Look Sharp' would go down as one of the most influential albums in the annals of music. I hope history reflects on Joe and give him just props for the incredible genius he brought to 'new wave'.

  • Excellent!!!! Think I have this on a 10" album with Button Badge in the corner!!!

Saw him do Acapella on stage supporting the Rolling Stones at Roundhay Park, Leeds in 1982ish!

Check out Geraldine & John another great relationship track!!

  • Yeah this one and Fools In Love will

keep a boy out of trouble.

  • funny-- the melody is much like "Less Than Zero" from My Aim Is True... i hear a little "Working Week" in there as well. Great song, though--

  • The single peoples' anthem.

  • Thanks for posting this! The first two cd's I bought were "Look Sharp" and Elvis Costello's "My Aim Is True."

  • You are quite welcome! The album Look Sharp is excellent with with 2 additional tracks. Maybe I will go out and buy My Aim Is True by Elvis Costello. These guys are 2 of the 3 "Angry Young Men" of the late 70's New Wave era.

  • @ellismortonson "CD's"? Your just a kid then. . I bought the records the same day. :-)

  • I love this song

  • I love how he brings back that simple three chord break down part for the ending, and in the end he lays the beat under it. That's really genius to me. That ending part could just go on and on into eternity and I'd be happy camper.

  • ummm. that version of that song is not on that album.

  • ALRIGHT, THATS ENOUGH!

  • Great song, from a great album!

  • Yes, I agree and the 2 bonus track are excellent too! Don't Ask Me and You Got The Fever complete the album.

  • Haven't heard this song since my turntable broke in 1988, when I broke down and bought a CD player....man, what I've missed!! Thanks for posting this!

Great song for Graham Maby and his bass!

  • You are welcome! After Joe Jackson dissolved his band after Beat Crazy he kept Graham Maby as his bass player. The original band re-united in 2003 and 2004 to record Volume 4 and a live album.

  • This song really stands up over time.

  • holy shit, that BASS.

  • thx for upload. i love this underrated timeless song.

  • You are welcome! This is such an underrated song, and it brings back memories for me. I love Joe Jackson's cynical attitude, and this is for anybody who is alone on Valentine's Day.
