  • (Me saying to Superman and Clark) I will beat both your asses! (sees Superman lift car) (this part has 2 alternate endings) .....ok maybe at chess (or) ......ok maybe with chuck norris. CHUCK U TAKE SUPERMAN I WILL TAKE CLARK! (we win)

  • I agree.... A great scene from an otherwise silly movie.....

  • our hero of our times!!!

  • "Danger Acid"

  • 2:09- okay his skin wouldn't melt in the acid, but wouldn't his suit?

  • @magicx3434 The suit comes from Krypton as well and, as such, has properties similar to Superman.

  • I think this how the fight with Nuclear Man should have been :)

  • Superasshole!

  • i know kent is superman but in this scene does he have any powers right now or is he just an average reporter

  • @Timehn36k9voc Oh, he has his powers alright-- else Superman probably would've killed Clark with the first punch. But what really drives it home is when he survives getting put in the car crusher (not only that, but having the strength to force it back open again)...and later, when Supes puts Clark in the grinder (just before crushing Clark's glasses), the grinder is *visibly* overloading by trying (and failing) to grind up Clark.

  • @DorianMichaelsIII Thank you!!!!!!!!! I was always confused by this scene :p

  • Has anyone else noticed that the colouring on evil superman is pretty much identical to that of Brandon Ruth's?

  • @Mrspikeprime I noticed when the first pic of Routh in costume was released..I told my dad "He looks like Dark Superman from the third movie."

  • 0:20 - 0:27 best 7 seconds of my life

  • everyone has to confront the demon within

it what makes us strong and human-frankie smales

  • I remember this being WAY cooler when I was a kid.

  • HOW DARE YOU CALL THIS A SILLY FILM!! CUSRSE YOU!!!

  • How dare you call superman 3 silly

  • @210482fmj superman films 1-3 were the best all had raving reviews get the blu ray boxset and watch the making of superman 3 and look out for a walk on appearance from batman on the set in websters lair all three superman movies raised loads of money for the special olympic games for dissadvantaged children around the world but part 4 did'nt break even christopher reeve was gutted about that they should have kept lester for part 4 but they did not.
  • @FRANKIESHANOWSKIY2K0 In his book "Still Me" Reeve even said that this fight Scene Stands alone in the Film but he wasn't happy with the rest of it. It would have been much better had Richard Donner (who directed Superman 1, and part of Superman 2 before leaving the Set under sstrenous circumstances) had been directing it. Thats my opinion anyway, and I think it was Reeve's too.

  • @210482fmj It is silly, even Christopher Reeve thought so.

  • @soeffingwhat Some people felt that way about it. SUperman 2 was the best

  • @soeffingwhat Who cares, this movie was awesome. Superhero movies should be silly and fun. I think you';re missing the point, along with other people who think they should be more epic like Lawrence of Arabia!

  • @MegaGhoststories Not really. Yes maybe its silly and fun but it went nowhere near having the same atmosphere as it were, to the first Film. I don't care about it, I prefer this first one, which to me, is a real masterpiece.

  • i know how stupid it is not being able to tell clark kent is superman with the glasses on,but they do look like two different people

  • @retepoteil It's the way how his hair is parted in different sides and the big, thick frames changes the appearence. C. Reeve did a great job in performances to make the audience believe it was to different characters in the first movie.

  • 3:40 there was once an episode of 1000 way to die were someone actually died in a car compacter. what a way to go...

  • I like the real good Clark Kent against fake evil Superman!

  • @MrGUERO1984 The point's up until he split into Kent were real, but when he splits into Kent that's when it's a battle probably in his mind. That's why the evil superman just disappears.

  • I saw this movie originally and what everyone needs to realize when they criticize this is that everyone loved this movie. It was popular whethor or not modern reviews say whatever, I was there. Richard Pryor was at his top and people thought it was lighthearted and great. Now as to this scene, yes it didn't belong in the silly romp that was the rest of the film. This scene is actually deep and amazing because Superman kills. He maybe only killing his bad persona aka himself gone rogue but still

  • drunk Superman

  • The cartoonist Walt Kelly wrote "We've seen the enemy, and he is us". That's what this scene exemplifies.

Reeve wrote in his autobiography that this was the only redeeming portion of the movie. .

  • I agree. I never understood why such a great scene would be part of a stupid slap sticky movie. It's like someone else shot that scene.

  • Christopher Reeve was really good in this movie. He had to do trio roles of Clark, Superman and Superdrunk all in the same movie. Great actor....

  • So evil superman was Tyler Durden the whole time

  • @fredmand The first rule of Superman is "You do not talk about 'Fight Club.'"

  • @fredmand Exactly what I was thinking. This is like Fight club. Most likely there is only one superman here and he is fighting his imagination and himself. That's why the evil superman just disappears.

  • theres alot of mustangs in that yard

  • 4:01 love how aggressively he flicks that switch lmao!

  • i thought this and the comp. fight scene were the ONLY good parts

  • This is the best scene from this movie the rest sucked ass

  • Thumbs up if Carter Bays sent you here.

  • 5:33 IK+ sound effect

  • Cristopher Reeve is the best Superman ever! His body is awesome!!

  • 1:46 proves that superman can fly!

  • The description is right on the money: An awesome scene from a silly film.

IMO probably the finest scene in the Christopher Reeve Superman films.

  • This is like buu vs Evil buu in DBZ

  • Clark versus Superman. Clark wins.

  • @idgarad It's actually positive energy battling the negative energy. The negative energy seems invincible for some time, but eventually it is the positive energy that always triumphs in the end, just when you thought it was all over.

  • man i was pulling for BIZZARO, oops i mean evil superman.. all i know is never buy that guy a drink at the bar..

  • 1:11 Clark Kent had an "Oh, ****" expression. XD

  • How did chris reeve fight himself, in this scene?

  • @Transam4000 Another actor whose back is turned on you.

  • How did chris reeve fight himself?

  • 21-27: THAT sounds PAINFUL D:!

  • @joejar5 he was passing a kidney stone

  • @cellardoor199991 Either that, or having a MAJOR orgasm!! And you know KRYPTONIANS, bodies more evolved than ours, so that's 1000s of times the pain XD!!

  • I told my sister in law I love her. She rejected me. Now I think I will control my lust and become Superman.

  • @IronManu77

YEAH NO WONDER SHE REJECTED YOU

  • @ICET100 Lol, I actually wanted a strong reject so I stop thinking about her. And I have actually, it is the subconscious effort to let go of someone permanently, because in your mind you may think someone likes you the way you dream about them liking you, but in reality it is something else.

  • 2:00 LMFAO

  • I can give as good as I get.

  • Has the fight went on, Clark was getting stronger, and evil Superman was getting weaker. I always got that impression, the only good scene in Superman 3.

  • If this battle truly was in the mind, I find it very interesting that Clark wins considering the Reeve movies treated Superman as the real personality.

  • @sabishiihito Clark Kent as he presents himself to Lois and co is a false ID, yes. But not the Clark who is with Ma Kent and stuff. Superman as is presented here is also just as 'false", his real self is a combo of both.

  • It seems that writers turn stupid or dumb things down when writing Superman. A fight between Clark Kent and Superman would have caused mass devastation and not regulated to a junk yard. Sure Clark would want to keep it there to protect his secret and innocents bystanders safe, but A-hole Superman could care less about ANYTHING!

  • @TONYGILLEY They probably didn't have the budget for it, or the creativity.

  • @ShadowSonic2 I'd say yes both and add BALLS to that as well

  • @TONYGILLEY ...and i thought i was the only person who felt this way!!!!

  • While I like this fight, I can see the flaws in it. For one thing Both Superman and Clark Kent are not using their brains. Clark represent his humanity while A-Hole Superman is representing his dark side. Despite Clark's appearance he clearly has ALL his powers. Why does Superman think that spitting Acid, a trash compacter and metal grinder is just gonna finish him when his punches and kicks didn't do the job? The same can be said for Clark. TIRES??!?!

  • Can someone please tell me

  • @henrychau11 Superman III , lol you really don't know?

  • What movie is this

  • It's funny how they keep doing things to each other that they know can't really hurt them.

I haven't watched this scene since I was a kid, and now I'm wondering if this was really all in Superman's head the whole time, and he really had a psychotic episode where he got rid of his dark self. Which would explain how he "divided" himself and how the dark Superman just disappeared.

  • Clean shaven Versus 5 O'clock shadow

  • Superman vs Christopher Reeve

    A battle of justice

  • Like when Rayden (I still spell it like that) went bad in MK and had a darker outfit, I like this Superman costume better. I could see Gambit and Death Gambit fighting it out like this... somewhat

  • yup, good over evil you bastarts.

  • this is my best scene ever. brilliant movie.

  • I can give as good as i get oh yeah come on come on come on fight come on

  • This was one of my favorite scenes out of the Movies 2:00 - 2:05 Epic!

  • @AudioAndroid THEY WERE SOOOOO FUNNY though O MY GOSH the evil supes seemed SO CRAZY and this was like one big comedy scene. Especially the part where he was sounding like a coach or somethin shoutin like that and where he was hitting clark with a large scrap metal, while sayin "you been gettin on my nerves for a long TIME, ya gonna GET IT!!!! >:O" XD LMBO!!! THAT was funny. Glad good superman won though.

  • Rick James: Kryptonite is a hell of a drug.

  • The soul of Superman came out in physical form to battle the anger of the evil body and its ugly desires.

  • bigben0316 yup..evil Superman has a dark cape, boots and suit... just like Zack Snyder's new Man Of Steel movie.. :)

  • ..they need to have superman vs bizzaro..

  • YES!!

  • Christopher Reeve was every bit as perfect as both Clark Kent with his fidgeting, bumbling ways as well as the ultimate Superhero.

  • CLARK HAD HALF OF HIS POWERS, SUPERMAN HAD THE OTHER HALF, THE COOL HALF. THINK YOU MORON!

  • A silly film you say? Whatever you dickhead......all the NEW superhero films today are SILLY!!! all fucking pathetic CGI bollocks. At least back then they actually BOTHERED to TRY and make a film without 99% of it being a fucking computer....you dumb fucker....The new superman was GAY GAY GAY, just like you, so shut the fuck up.

  • Expecting bits and pieces of Clark Kent and along comes Clark Kent in one piece....what a turn around to defeat evil....that is the way to do it. :)

  • Comment removed

  • Of all the Superman movie there are and will be, this will without doubt be the most inspiring Superman scene of all time,....except the wicked wicked monkey in the end that ruins it completely.

  • @MrGUERO1984

Yes I know, lol. I'm talking about the fight. It doesn't make sense unless it's subconscious. Clark doesn't seem to have super powers (e.g. he doesn't fly, when he was being beaten with the metal part, he was being hurt), and yet he survives all of Superman's blows and strangles him. This is just a confusing scene, altogether lol

  • @OhManNoSpaces basically clark had to rebalance his inner chi

  • @OhManNoSpaces

just because he didn't fly... doesn't mean he didn't have powers.

plus, how does he survive that acid attack and the compactor you fucktard

  • @RomulanMastermind

Ah, the Keyboard Warriors have arrived :)

Superman flies and clearly overpowers him. If he was to have Superpowers, I'm guessing he would have taken. The thing that most gives it away though, is when Superman says "You've always wanted to fly, Kent", and throws him off. Anyway, like HAWKEYE2143 said, it's most likely im balancing his karma.

  • @RomulanMastermind - Exactly... This Clark did have every bit as much power as evil Superman. That is why evil Superman hurt his hand when he first hit Clark. :)

  • @MrGUERO1984

No, the fight between Clark and Superman was. Or, it's most likely that way, because Clark (human) successfully survived various hits that would have killed anyone else, and he also strangled superman. You asked why villains didn't help Bad Supes defeat Kent, which would be impossible to do physically.

  • I prefer the evil Superman

  • @PCGamerman37 .. you dick.

  • @PCGamerman37 All right, Clark Kent. Way a go against the fake evil Superman!

  • pause at 7:40 for twin towers tribute year 1983

  • @MrGUERO1984

The fight was all on his head, it seems. So, I doubt they could physically help him fight Kent.

  • I love this part of the movie. Id liked some parts of 4 too.

  • So if Supes didn't split into 2, then who started those car crushers??

  • This scene is absolutely badass.

Superman 3 is a good movie in my book, it ticked all the boxes when I watched it as a kid. This scene in particular was seared into my memory. I secretly thought bad Superman looked cooler but still definitely wanted good Superman to prevail.

    .

  • @MrGUERO1984 I think you're looking far too deep into a not so complex plot. This is an older movie, plots didn't have massive details and explanations, I see what you're saying, but back then they didn't have to anwser those questions, it was just Superman beat bad Superman cause he was good, simple. Lol.

  • @MrGUERO1984 The "Synthetic Kryptonite" was the movie version of red kryptonite. In the comics Red K has a different effect on Superman every time it is used. So it wouldn't ALWAYS make him evil.

  • @MrGUERO1984 I presume the synthetic Kryptonite made him sick...granted, a lot of shots of Johnnie Wa;lker Red [scotch] would probably make most people sick. The synthetic Kryptonite was a fluke...earlier in the film, Gorman substituted tar (not actually an element on the periodic table) and that worked somewhat like red Kryptonite. I suppose most supervillians simply don't know that Kryptonite is radioactive and deadly fro Superman.

  • If only the rest of the movie was as entertaining. Incredible fight. The evil Superman's the best: "What's a matter Kent? Too warm for ya'? Come on chicken! You've been on my nerves for a long time!"

  • Thumbs up if you think this fight was more epic than the fight between Voldermort and Harry Potter!

  • "Man? (gibberish) I can give... come one, COME 'ERE! COME ON! COME ON! COME ON!

  • I classic film from my childhood...this is a great scene! I would love to see an updated version of good superman vs bad superman with today's SFX - think Neo fighting Agent Smith at the end of The Matrix Revolutions and it would be awesome!

  • Why you claim it is a "silly" film? Back then, it was awesome. Just like many other action movies. It's freaking pathetic how people downsize the past of things only to not realize how it brings epic shit in the future.

  • This scene is the best scence in superman 3. I loved christopher reeve's performance in all 4 film. The best man to play superman. Rest In Peace Christopher Reeve, a brilliant actor, a legend.

  • @Decrocky1 amen to that!

  • aspect ratio

  • per favore mettelo in italiano questa scena

  • They need to do a re-make on this fight again, using better effects etc make evil superman more aggressive!!

  • i wonder if brandon routh going for clone of superman 2

  • I like evil superman more.

  • I remember seeing this in the theater as a kid and I remember the crowd going absolutely insane at the return of the hero. Even before the shirt opened, as soon as that music hit, the crowd was on its feet cheering. Long live the hero!

  • Why are there ads for "Blade Runner" posted in a junkyard (when Clark hurls the tires at Superman)?

  • What split? He was imagine this all the way, and was fighting against himself!

  • I can give as good as i get

oh yeah come on come on come on

i think he gets the message lol

  • "Ooooh you wicked wicked monkey!"

    LOL

  • "You've been on my nerves for a long time". Ya, I hear you dude.

  • LOL @ 2:16. Clark tucks in his tie like he thinks he's got the fight in the bag!

  • Pryor is a comic genius but this film would have been great if his scenes were edited out.

  • Too bad it wasnt Red Kryptonite they used to make him like this. Also Black Kryptonite was used to split Clark and Kal. Bizzaro was in this. Like they combined several Superman lore concepts

  • Is it ok to call this bad Superman Bizzaro? I mean when you see two Supermans one of them's gotta be Bizarro right?

  • '' You always wanted to fly Kent....nows your chance! '' lol

  • 37 people got bogus kryptonite.

  • Mrs Doubtfire at the end lol

  • LOL @ the open pit of acid in the middle of a junk yard

  • this part is awesome....christopher reeve does some great acting in this scene

  • out of all the superman movies i have seen which i have one through four the richard donnor cut and returns superman III was the best one because it was hardcore

  • 2:48

A fight to the death is a really bad time to orgasm.

  • i like how clarke is taking hits from his evil side

  • This is one of two of my favorite moments from the movie. My second favorite is where you see the computer display of Superman when Webster is launching the rockets at him.

  • Superman being a dick to his own alter ego. This is gold!

  • Clark Kent is Superman

  • Can a nice sexy girl come and do exactly this to me?

  • I can only hope that Maria Sharapova or someone like her does a number on me, just like in this wickid vid!

  • Anyone see the similarities between this and Fight Club?

  • @chaff5 I was just thinking the same thing!

  • Hey, quick question. Was the fight truly physical? Or was it just representing his inner conflict?

  • @LegendaryWyrms Seeing how the place was still smashed up after the fight was over, I'd say it was real.

  • @ShadowSonic2 Agreed. It's a power he's shown before in limited circumstances. He can make a clone of himself, but it makes him significantly weaker, so he doesn't do it often.

  • @ShadowSonic2

The damage to the junkyard may have been imaginary too. There was never any trace that there was even two separate Supermen here. I think this was the tar Kryptonite wearing off and Superman dealing with it in his mind; trying to reaffirm himself, more or less.

  • Man this brings back memories. I remember me and my older brother would act out this entire scene when we were little. I also remember accidently kicking my brother in the face just like at 5:34. If our dad wasn't home that fool would have killed me. lol

  • @mruhopper

This scene was the highlight of the whole movie. If it'd been more like this throughout the rest of it, Superman III would have been much better than it turned out. Despite its shortcomings, it's still a Superman story and I like it just for that reason. :)

  • @Elfrunner Yeah but he faught 3 people like himself in part 2 already!

  • @handsomedevil98

    Yeah...? What else?

  • @handsomedevil98 It says in the description

  • @LegendaryWyrms

The more I have watched this, the more it appears to have been all in his mind. There are a few things that allude to this.

1: Everyone else in the junkyard ran away, so there's no eyewitness account that there were really two of them.

2: Clark Kent just appeared out of thin air. And even then, he was wearing a damn well-tailored suit! Do splits usually involve being nicely dressed?

3: Evil Superman just vanished into thin air. Clark later says he wasn't himself.

  • lol who calls anybody a "chicken" these days.i have not heard that in a long time!

  • If only Superman was around during the BP oil spill

  • Best scene in the film, besides the chick with the big tits

  • you can do it superman ...plz come back christoper...

  • lol his shirt has no buttons

  • Comment removed

  • I love how at 1:05 they give each other the WTF look. XD

  • 5:08. This guy could beat the crap out of welling and routh

  • The best scene from SUPERMAN 3! Bizarro vs Clark Kent. Hell Yeah!:)

  • Comment removed

  • I think that wicked monkey soundbite at the end is from Madame Doubtfire.

  • 4:47 Blade Runner poster

  • Superman 3 is actually a pretty strong film but I guess the problem is the bad guys are weak. They are wannabe Lex Luthors and after coming down from Zod, I guess it was a let down. But Superman 3 plays with the identity of Clark Kent so much it shouldn't be ignored.

  • What do you mean when you say silly film?

  • Why is it that at 3:03 Superman speaks with--what seems to be--a New Jersey accent?

  • @BringMeSumHam Chris Reeve was from NY. I guess "evil" to him = New Jersey.

  • some people say that this film was pants no no no it was perfect i mean the first superman introduce superman .the second made him fight agaist people from his own plantet and the 3rd made him fight himself what other film has done that

  • i think so many people have such a misguide concept of who superman is. He is the ultimate human and with all of that power without constraints think of who he would be, he needs clark he has to have him in his life because without him he would just be another superhero who is an asshole
