@liighthead i didn't use marine grade. the key here is thin plywood for most plywood boats, i sealed it with latex paint i had here. next plywood boat i'll use fiberglass on the seams.
@3344utube we are posting aquaculture articles on our GardenFork site, GF contributor Rick is building an aquaculture system and posting articles about his progress. thx, eric - GardenFork
this is a great video bud, im working on one right now lol, thank you, so what happend at the end did you fall in to the water or did you made it to shore with out geting wax lol.
@francopelaez26 we had a small leak in the bottom window, i didn't apply the silicone well, and did not let it dry long enough before launching the SS GardenFork thx, eric-GardenFork
@MrComputerGeek70441 interesting question, got me thinking here about that. i am going to use fiberglass tape and epoxy on the next version of this. will look into the liquid nails idea too. thanks for watching, eric
@MrComputerGeek70441 the plans are on our GardenFork site, can't post the URL here in the comments, YouTube rules, you know... but do a search for GardenFork Plywood Boat and it should show up on the first page of the search. thanks, eric.
AWESOME! Some suggestions though. Use Fiberglass tape and epoxy for the seams instead. No screws are needed then and no caulking. Also, make pontoons out of PVC pipes sealed with end caps. They don't need to be very long. 2.5-3 feet would work well. The boat would be much more stable then. But nice idea! Very cheap!
@erochow thats good to know, I am building this boat, I think I am going to omit the plexiglass. Besides I was going to use it as makeshift 2 person canoe for use in a small river. Mainly because I dont have the money to buy a real canoe. Anyways good video, I learned quite alot.
@movieshop1000 you'd have to reinforce the back of it, also, the boat is kind of tippy, not sure if the trolling motor battery might end up in the lake. i'm planning on making a larger plywood boat in a few weeks. stay tuned. thanks for watching, eric.
Hey Eric - Loved the vid and the camera operator commentary. I live on a pond and a guy down the street just repaired a boat the same way you built yours. If your going to try and build another try what he did and paint it with truck bedliner. It's waterproof and durable. Great Job !! :-[}
@the1969info great. make sure everyone wears life preservers. this boat may not be big enough for all of you. with two adults its a bit small. great for kids though.
thats pretty cool :D
might give it a try someday :D

Could liquid nails be used where the wood is put together so it would help hold it together and help seal, then silicone the inside

@nunvikingsofthesea the bottom plexi leaks if you don't use a lot of silicon caulk and let it cure.
