  • thats pretty cool :D

might give it a try someday :D

  • @liighthead let me know if you build one, take pictures or make a video! eric.

  • @erochow will do (:

do you have to use marine grade ply ? did you? lol

or just seal it up with a paint?

thinking of building one around around 6ft long ( maybe 5ft ) 35" wide.. and bout 12" high..

    just for something todo haha

  • @liighthead i didn't use marine grade. the key here is thin plywood for most plywood boats, i sealed it with latex paint i had here. next plywood boat i'll use fiberglass on the seams.

    thx, eric.

  • why didnt you just use the 1x2's and screws in the first place?

    that and epoxy!

  • @busdriver824 my life is a work in progress. thx, eric - GardenFork

  • 4:14 Dog discovers gravity.

  • Sink or swim.

  • any fish in that lake? since you do the green videos,u could do a video on aquaculture.

  • @3344utube we are posting aquaculture articles on our GardenFork site, GF contributor Rick is building an aquaculture system and posting articles about his progress. thx, eric - GardenFork

  • this is a great video bud, im working on one right now lol, thank you, so what happend at the end did you fall in to the water or did you made it to shore with out geting wax lol.

  • @francopelaez26 we had a small leak in the bottom window, i didn't apply the silicone well, and did not let it dry long enough before launching the SS GardenFork thx, eric-GardenFork

  • Are there any other modifications that can be made

  • LOVE it nice work

  • awww...the dog look sad at 8:09

  • Could liquid nails be used where the wood is put together so it would help hold it together and help seal, then silicone the inside

  • @MrComputerGeek70441 interesting question, got me thinking here about that. i am going to use fiberglass tape and epoxy on the next version of this. will look into the liquid nails idea too. thanks for watching, eric

  • Your vid is the best, and most descriptive that I've found. Can you tell me the dimensions, and how many people can it hold

  • @MrComputerGeek70441 the plans are on our GardenFork site, can't post the URL here in the comments, YouTube rules, you know... but do a search for GardenFork Plywood Boat and it should show up on the first page of the search. thanks, eric.

  • AWESOME! Some suggestions though. Use Fiberglass tape and epoxy for the seams instead. No screws are needed then and no caulking. Also, make pontoons out of PVC pipes sealed with end caps. They don't need to be very long. 2.5-3 feet would work well. The boat would be much more stable then. But nice idea! Very cheap!

  • @leakyspacesuit thanks, my next boat will use fiber tape and epoxy. friend of mine gave me a big roll of the tape. fun YT name by the way, eric

  • how long and how wide is a piece of plywood

  • is it better to use screws or nails?

  • @coolness312 screws are the way to go when building a boat!

  • Cok, cok and more cok!!

  • add stabilizer or pontoon helps stabilize the boat.

  • Pause a 0:07

  • does it leak alot?

  • @nunvikingsofthesea the bottom plexi leaks if you don't use a lot of silicon caulk and let it cure.

  • @erochow thats good to know, I am building this boat, I think I am going to omit the plexiglass. Besides I was going to use it as makeshift 2 person canoe for use in a small river. Mainly because I dont have the money to buy a real canoe. Anyways good video, I learned quite alot.

  • attach a cheap electric trolling motor to it?

  • @nunvikingsofthesea trolling motor would work, but its not the most steady boat. but its fun... eric.

  • would you recremend this for a wood shop project

  • @thehim34 sure. its basic woodworking to put it together. be fun. eric.

  • i am going to make one but with wheels to make it function as a go kart as well as a boat

  • @DrunkSoviets704 would love some pictures of that, if you'd send me some eric -at- gardenfork.tv

  • How many tubs of cock do u need I want to make one of those

  • @DrunkSoviets704 i'd say 3 tubes of caulk, must be silicone caulk.

  • Eric, Im gonna make my version of this. it will be 8 ft. long and 3 ft. 10 in. wide. it will have a cabin, oars, and trolling motor. thanks.

  • @guitargeek1122 wow. send me pictures! eric @ gardenfork.tv

  • Im looking at making a bigger boat . About 12 foot long. Have a nice day

  • if i wanted to ad a troling motor to it would i have to renforce the back at all?

  • @movieshop1000 you'd have to reinforce the back of it, also, the boat is kind of tippy, not sure if the trolling motor battery might end up in the lake. i'm planning on making a larger plywood boat in a few weeks. stay tuned. thanks for watching, eric.

  • Very cool! I like the way you explain things so simply. Your videos are great.

  • Again you've proven why this is my absolute favorite web site. You really are a very talented person. Thank you.

  • @ma5468 thanks again for the kind words. let me know some topic suggestions. eric.

  • Very good. MAKEZINE have really great videos. I liked the color you chose.

  • @oldrockmustard Make Magazine posted our homemade plywood boat video on their site! how cool. thanks, eric.

  • lets see let the dog jump in!!!!!

  • @guitargeek1122 the Labs jump in the water a lot in our other videos here on YouTube. check them out. thanks, eri c

  • How Fun!!

  • Nice video. You didn't show us the bottom of the boat with the glass while you were In the water!? I wanted to see what It looked like.

  • @1ChevyGuy375 yeah i know, i forgot. thanks, eri c

  • Now you need to build a dock, so you can get in and out easier.

  • Nice job .Im looking at making a boat . I have a motor that needs a boat. thanks

  • @scoobydog411 be careful with a motor on this. its a tippy boat.

  • Hey Eric - Loved the vid and the camera operator commentary. I live on a pond and a guy down the street just repaired a boat the same way you built yours. If your going to try and build another try what he did and paint it with truck bedliner. It's waterproof and durable. Great Job !! :-[}

  • @DBIGMAN812MANY truck bedliner paint is a great idea. thanks for that. eric.

  • You guys are great! Thanks for showing the labs.

  • @dureyes thanks for watching! eric.

  • Tell the camera lady to get back in the kitchen to make you a sammich!

  • This was so awesome. Well done :-)

  • This is a really great video. I plan on doing this for some fun with my nephews and to go fishing in a local lake. Thanks alot for doing this.

  • @the1969info great. make sure everyone wears life preservers. this boat may not be big enough for all of you. with two adults its a bit small. great for kids though.

  • thats cool man..i think i will build one of them with my little boys..

  • @ThePohto send me a photo if you do: eric@gardenfork.tv

  • @erochow we did build one..going to take it to lake this weekend...i will send you a photo
