  • can you beleive this film is 96 years old? man Mr Chaplin gave some history

  • I assume the film used in this movie wasn't the best available, either that or this film was copied a lot.

  • this old movie look so elaborated, all the moves are so well balanced, never seen this role play of chaplin, are there more movies with this character?

  • @PoisonMint

At least one, that I know of - "Cruel, Cruel Love", which basically revolves around Chaplin freaking out bigtime because he thinks he's drunk poison.

It's on YouTube, and well worth a look!

  • The tramp character is featured in most of Chaplin's movies, he just developed it a bit. I think this is the only film with this particular version, but I'm not sure.

  • The first film of the great Chaplin: simply wonderful!

  • @marius478 Not his first film at all

  • @UMP700 This is Chaplin's first film.

  • Absoloutley incerdible

  • they were actually saying the lines! :)

  • In these old silent movies do you know if the actors really were saying lines or just making up lip movements?

  • i wondered that too but yes they said lines and in later years when Charlie made his own movies he actually had a script. and the scene in City Lights is in the world record of a scene using the most takes because Charlie would get upset on the actresses delivery of her lines and made he do it over and over saying it would show on film if the intonnation was wrong. he was a perfetionist indeed.

  • wow. u definately reconize him, his movement and style.

  • a very important piece in cinematic history
