Actually, the Screamer was cut from the game after playtesters experienced the frustration of having to run after it time after time. The horde capabilities were shunted into the Boomer; high-pitched sounds in general attract the horde.

Just to make sure you know. You should always use your Medkit first. Except when running from a Tank. Pills give you absolutely no health. They simply compensate for the fact that the lower your health is, the slower you move. Just after the Witch, Alf was almost done healing and he switched to Pills instead. The Safe Room was just ahead so he may as well have healed.

speaking as a member of the military... that is an M-16. The M-4 carbine has a smaller barrel, a shorter upper receiver, and a collapsible butt-stock. The M-16 has a barrel that is 40 inches long, the M-4 has a 16 inch barrel. Pretty big differences.
