I have For Petes Sake and can upload really soon..I've owned it forever so it's mine and they can't say anything.. or take it off of youtube.. I'll post it. This movie never made it to the screen at all.. they said it was so bad that it went straight to video.. never hit a movie screen. Strange becaue she was pretty picky about the roles she picked.. so I'm wondering why she chose this.
@iamraybob because it was never shown on the screen..went straight to video because it was that bad. I can only think she may have done this because she wanted the money because she actually admitted taking roles or doing concerts because of that..now she's sitting pretty, but in 81..not as much as now..she's worth over 400 mill now, but wasn't then.
Thank you. I wish these scenes were in the theatrical version. I remember them on the CBS network broadcast years ago to fill the time slot. Nice to see them. NO.. they are not in the finished theatrical cut.
These are not the deleted scenes from the movie. I've seen then all before. Thanks for sharing, though, it's always nice to watch one of Barbra's most underrated films. I think she delivered a good performance and the movie has this kind of rare humour and sensibility. it's very '80s. Love it!
I remember when this film was released, it was marketed as a "madcap" comedy (which it isn't) with posters of Barbra/Cheryl sliding down a fire pole in a Marilyn-like (see, "Seven Year Itch") halter-top dress.
OBviously, this is a dark comedy and not necessrily for the mass market.
I saw this movie when it was first released. Thought it was terribly underrated. Appreciated Streisand's "low key" performance. Thought she really became Cheryl, rather than just being Streisand.(Which usually is good enough anyway).Think i'ts a great addition to her body of work.
Barbra's rather terrible in it - but , somehow, very likable too. I love her singing "Carelessly Tossed". "All Night Long" is far more "accessible" nowadays than nearly 30 (!) years ago.
Ten years ago I felt like this is a bad movie, but by now I felt
it has a special kind of sad humor... It s really worth watching it.. The story is today very cool... It was filmed twenty years to early... It remembers me to the Broken Flowers movie... Dermot Berlin
Don't care to much for this Streisand/Hackman movie. I bought it at Borders. Watched it then returned it! God it was awful! Big fan of barbra's other movies though.

Great dialogue for Hamilton Camp in the
role of BUGGOMS:
119- 2:26
" Can t rely on nobody but yourself"
"Everything you do comes back to you,
....sooner or later....haunts you down...
like a weasel."
Great character actor.

Pity that Barbra did not record the Charlie Chaplin theme music used in this film
LA VIOLETERA by Jose Padilla . Chaplin used it as a theme music in CITY LIGHTS.
Why Barbra, why didn"t you ?

I just love the catchy VERY late 70s/early 80s instrumental playing in the background throughout this film.

Was this the first movie to use "ditto" as a response to "I love you"? Because I know Ghost popularized it in 1990...
