At the end of the day, NOBODY can fuck with Em lyrically, you can name all of these "underground" cats like Immortal Tech (who has a shitty flow and rhyming ability) and the like but Em is the greatest when it comes to ability. Now the MUSIC is another debate. Every Top 5er has their own strength.

Em is the BEST writer in hip hop. Biggie had the best flow, Jay has the best delivery and most consistent career, Nas and Pac have the most well rounded content, Pac expressed emotions the best.

7) To further explain the Rakim reference....when MC Juice was out, the west coast had a signature sound and flow and he was the opposite of that. He sounded like an East coast rapper and that was not a smart decision considering that the turbulent east vs. west coast beef was still in the air. Nobody on the west wanted to here someone from their coast trying to sound like the enemy...Rakim is top 5 in terms of hip hop as a WHOLE b/c he is an innovator in multi-syllabic rhyming.
