tattie, hi; I've seen other movies and documentaries from that ages and you will see all ladies with all those ridiculous hair styles, they look like habitants from "Whoville"anyway the movie is wonderful and the music 8specially magnus fiennes's theme is just great)
wow, who was her hair dresser?!looks very ridiculous, though Liv Tyler is a good Tatiana, just as i imagined her to myself when i read the book...but hair %\
I've lost count how many times I've watched this video. I can't get over how well you've fit the music to the movie. (Am I correct in assuming this is not the actual music from the film?) Some of the cues I really love: it being so quiet in the beginning, then swelling into the full theme when she opens the doors, now in her ball gown. The music swirling up again in almost perfect timing with the twirling couples. And lastly, the moment she sees Onegin. Gives me chills every time.
Thanks for your kind comments. - Yes, the film and Prokofievs music matches quiete good (this music is not the soundtrack). Prokofievs "Onegin"-music is not well known. The film "Onegin" directed by Martha Fiennes (the sister of Ralph Fiennes) is for me a masterpiece.
I never realized Prokofiev composed a composition on Eugene Onegin. Nor did I know he reused his waltz from Cinderella. This new (for me) orchestration is absolutely marvelous. Lovely to hear.
Martha Fiennes is one of the best directors of these days. I'm not used to this quality in modern movies.

A lovely piece of music - but it's NOT a waltz. Waltzes have to be in 3. This music is in 2.
