  • 32% iPad 2

  • 100%, but it is charging

  • We Need Lithium Polymer batteries, not lithium ion.... But then the phones would need voltage cutoff, and more advanced chargers blah blah blah............

  • 22% galaxy s2 white :P

  • but if they made better batteries, that means phones will be thicker....?

  • @rainerv78 If they made BIGGER batteries, phone would be thicker. If they made BETTER batteries, phones wouldn't have to be thicker.

  • Iam in to battery and I agree 100% I been saying this for three year I think no one care abut making better battery but I do care because we need stronger battery for all our technology gadget these days

  • 11%

  • Batteries should last a week, or the phone should be redesigned to charge the battery so it never runs out.

  • 79%

  • 88% epic 4g touch. Blazer rom ;P

    cheerios?

  • I absolutely agree. LIKEd and SUBSCRIBEd. Thanks!

  • @AvatarRoku Thank YOU!

  • 91 :)

  • At the Begining of the video HAHA MICORWAVE TWITCH (>'_' )>

  • @westjosh10 It's totally fine, I swear! lol

  • 9%... D:

  • If it weren't for Sony developing the Lithium Ion battery in the 90's, all this super handheld stuff couldn't exist. At least, not on this level.

Even if they made a super battery which could give you 3 days of power, it would be metered down for a days worth of cell phone use. Why? Smaller, thinner devices and less cost. Plus, cellular providers don't want their users pounding their network for 16 hours a day!

    Excellent rant, otherwise.

  • @nukeking1 Yeah the DROID is actually 550MHz! Even crazier stuff! XD

  • Comment removed

  • i had 71% battery

  • What the fuck is going on with that microwave?

  • @GarrettHannen ... nuthin? lol

  • @marquesbrownlee do you not see the light flickering out of control?

  • @GarrettHannen Might have something to do with the camera's frame rate and rolling shutter.

  • @rikomenzies Yep, its because of the AC power source. Whats funny is that car LED systems due the same thing and people wonder why, DC power. But, they introduce a frequency into the LED's even with a DC system....dunno why yet

  • mine lasts up to 2 days because i have an lover end android

  • @TheDraver48 Haha lucky :P

  • whats the name of the outro music please?

  • @iLYK2PWN "Old Ghosts"

  • 24

  • The phone I owned ages ago did nothing more then call people and text them (because everything else took too long) and had a battery life of 5 days, 8 if I didn't text a lot. I miss those days.

  • "TESLA TECHNOLOGY" POWERED BATTERIES = FREE ENERGY & INFINITE POWER SOURCE.

  • 88 % lol

  • My experia battery lasts a day. I also have another low tech phone with dual sim and the battery lasts me more than a week!

  • @axlerate99 Nice lol

  • processors need to get less power hungry

  • @alt572 Agreed - same with screens!

  • @marquesbrownlee with the oled and amoled screens that shouldnt be much of a problem, oh and i have 75% battery left

  • Mine is charging bitches!

  • @Instinct869 You win this round. lol

  • well 10 minutes ago it said i had really low battery and needed to be charged immidiatly, 5 minutes ago it said i had full battery, and right now it says half full. so, that's the LG prime for ya. also known as the LG P.O.S.

  • @69avocado That's ridiculous. lol

  • the battery is smaller in the new one but provides the same amount of life. sounds like a big improvement to me. the question isn't about the tech its the marketing. companies have decided that about a day is a good target for life so they build around that. they make the phones smaller and drawl way more power than before. I think they are keeping in stride. not worth a rant.

  • @bellum80 Batteries are not smaller at all!

  • Nice rant, man!

It's a sorry fact that battery tech just isn't keeping up with the constant evolution of processor, memory, graphics, and display tech in today's industry...

It's good there's a clear voice in the crowd trying to get that message through.

    Thanks!!

  • @zzxxccvvbbnnmmist Thanks!

  • I hate it when it constantly fucking reminds you that your battery is almost dead... thus wasting even more battery.

  • @N0l4nH Yeah I hate that lol

  • Maybe in the future mobile factories tries the solar enerqy it will be great revolution !!

  • @Elbanditcasanova That would be pretty sick!

  • bloom energy has a superthin fuel cell technology. But you need to give it fossil fuels or some other kind of reusable fuel or natural gas.. How about putting some canola oil in our galaxy nexus 9? I heard it can power a lot

  • @AlohaBiatch Super exciting! XD

  • how about this?instead of ,aking phones incredibly thin put a bigger battery in it

  • @00dudemanguy00 They're kinda doing that now lol

  • @marquesbrownlee touche

  • I hate have to be the one to point out the glaringly obvious, but...

Its about the Second Law of Thermodyamics; what physicists call The Law. It is very difficult to STORE ENERGY. Even if we had photovoltaic units all over the place, the challenge would be STORING the energy. Among other things, it dissipates, like the Law says.

Battery technology is decades behind all other technology and here's the sad part: it likely won't catch up any time soon. All due to The Law.

  • @Wikipunani I realize all of this! Lithium ion batteries are a wonder by themselves, compared to told power technologies. But it's a tired, outdated spec that could have a wonderful replacement.

  • @Wikipunani but we forget Einsteins theory of relativity has in it that an equal number of atoms will have an equal number of energy in it, if only we could harness that amount of power jeez would last us years on a single battery.

  • @darkdog4440 Adorably diplomatic response. However, I'm a bit dismayed at how absent it was in substantive solutions to The Law's seemingly iron-clad restrictions on current--or even hypothetical--battery technology. You're totally threatening to make me a sad panda.

Regardless of the new fanciful nifty-neato tests with the supercollider.

  • @Wikipunani Haha sorry about making you a sad panda... No i think that you are right... I am a student only 14 you prob know more than me.. now that when I think of it harnessing that energy and outputting it as current with our current restrictions seems a little farfetched. But maybe soon in the future, keep your fingers crossed my friend

  • @darkdog4440 You are making it extremely difficult to be annoyed by you in any way at all.

    ...dammit.

  • Batteries is the only thing that keeps me from getting a smartphone. It Is annoying watching your phone die so quickly. cough... Duracell... cough (one can and SHOULD dream!

  • my battery can run only 10 hours MAX on full charge because I'm constantly using my phone. also, the more i do on my phone the more the battery heats up because of the power used. I wish they would invent a longer lasting battery AND a coolant system that won't burn my hand when opening facebook on my phone.

  • @DreamEaterTUTS I lol'd at the burned hand part lol try getting a different battery cover :P

  • @marquesbrownlee lol I'm using an otterbox. if that's not a good cover then i don't know what is! but I'm using the Evo 4G so most of the burnt hand part is coming from the metal kickstand. why they didn't make it something like hardened rubber or plastic, the world may never know. haha

  • I had same flip phone for six years and counting. On a full charge I get about one week of battery life! Why you may ask? Well here's the key, though my cell phone has a lot of features on it I do not use it for a Swiss Army knife. I call and receive calls and check my voicemail nothing more to it. And I turn it off at night. I really miss the days of cell phones just being phones. PS. The battery in my cell phone is the original battery I never replaced it.

  • @tbones11234 That's pretty crazy haha I could never use that! I use my phone as my phone, my wallet, my email, my calendar, my notes, my map... My everything. So while it may not last as long, it saves me a lot wherever I go because I don't have to carry much else.

  • @marquesbrownlee SWEET!

  • Is your microwave having an epileptic seizure?

Lol...and agreed with the battery point...though I do think that batteries have improved a bit (not saying its enough), especially since more powerful processors tend to drain battery faster...

  • @NonisMain It's definitely chilling back there lol. But yeah we need a leap in this technology!

  • they will never improve battery tech. why? because then we wouldn't need the combustion engine. you're smart enough to make the leap i just made in that statement.

  • @shakaama Whoa. Deep stuff :o

  • @marquesbrownlee subscribed by the way, i need to network with more people like me. :)

  • my xperia x10 is runinig 1d 11h 57m and is now at 62%

  • @tomuxs13 Not bad haha not bad.

  • pretty good point man, but in a way, the old motorola droid had 1 day of battery usage, however, now the samsung galaxy note has 1 day of battery usage even with the doubling of power and consumption. So in a way, they have improved battery performance, because if they were using the same battery tech as the droid, the galaxy wouldn't last even 4hrs :S lol, so they are improving them slightly, but yea, not as quickly :| oh well, maybe in the future, would be good if they lasted heaps longer :)

  • lithium air batteries, the next leap in battery technology.

  • @WDPlumbing Definitely sounds cool!

  • 45%

  • 72%

  • @veivo Pretty solid =]

  • I think that rather than expecting some sort of ground-breaking battery technology (which would increase costs and most likely be environmentally unfriendly), makers need to make the phones more space efficient and thicker, personally a slightly thicker phone that had longer battery life and was sturdier would win out for me.

  • @hydrox24 That's actually up to opinion - A lot of people hate thicker phones and would much rather see a dropoff in some other aspect of the phone to improve battery life.

  • 84 % last time charged 8 hours ago .. Iphone 4

  • @uhhassjack That's pretty sick.

  • Well my friend when cold fission is safe to use hopefully we can have it in mobile devices making them run for years with out battery replacement or charging :D

  • @fmpanic000 That'll be the day!

  • solar chargers exist -_-.....

  • @KashgroundTM I know... lol

  • arc reactor

  • @Luger718A1 I wish! XD

  • curve 75%

  • @rcanton1l1 Not bad, not bad!

  • @marquesbrownlee now it is 55% i have charged it alot

  • I remember the gold old days before smartphones, you would charge your Nokia block phone 1 every 3 days!

  • @cabokevin Those were the days!

  • Whats going up with ur microwave?

  • @sanderiw You mean my time machine? It's totally normal =]

  • the ipod touch battery sucks its 2 hour battery then dead

  • @adliala98 That's pretty awful!

  • Nexus S 75%, Bold 9780 32%

  • @lazycollosion Not bad!

  • Nuclear is the way forward!!!!!!... but then it might end up like fallout or summing lol

  • @Legodude5991 Haha you never know!

  • The battery on my Sensation lasted only 12 hours, on my nexus s 16....it could be better but I can't complaint, these smartphones nowadays needs more power.

So you are right, we need better batteries, no bigger batteries.

  • @Moonspell360 Exactly! Waiting for this Nexus Prime =]

  • This is kind of off topic but do you make the instrumentals at the end of your videos?

  • Geek question! How do you feel about the Vigor not changing the battery and keeping the same one as the Thunderbolt? *allegedly*

  • @EliasSmeeus I'm disappointing! I've been waiting for a change in battery technology for a while now.

  • you will be an excellent engineer young man....love your videos. keep it up!

  • @adeevasani Thank you!

  • God, my brain just broke..

  • @webcam224 My fault? haha

  • @marquesbrownlee Yeah haha

  • as a side note: when something doubles, it goes up by 100% not 200%.

    cheers!

  • @madsharukh Thanks for the feedback! It should've been 200% not +200%.

  • True

  • @perezed1333 Yep =]

  • mass Legal liked this video, keep it up man, I would buy this phone you tell me there sample price <------ Google translate

  • massa legal gostei desse vídeo, continue assim cara, gostaria de compra esse celular que você amostra ai mim diga o preço <------ Google translate

  • @jandsonJJS thank you! I appreciate it. No price =]

  • The percentages aren't consistent with what you're saying. No hate, just get it right next time. If the new thickness is 70% of the original, then it's not -70%, but -30%. And if something's size doubles it's not +200%, it's 200%, or +100%. Great videos by the way.

  • @BokorugroRR Thanks for the feedback!

  • 2 bars out of 4

  • @supersaintsfan31 Bars! XD

  • @marquesbrownlee dont judge.

  • @marquesbrownlee but we get where you were coming from.

  • Working with 77% battery on my iPhone 4...unplugged it at 7am, went to work at 9am, got off at 10pm. And yes I do use my phone (I use safari, ipod, texting, a ton of games open, but I close them if I dont forgot) and battery life is average I guess you could say

  • @2Lazy2SignUp That's not too bad! I don't know why you're gaming at work, though. lol

  • @marquesbrownlee probably because e was bored, i know how that feels, in school

  • @marquesbrownlee I only do it on my lunch break.

  • In Japan, SEI has developed a new lithium battery technology

    it is call "Aluminum-Celmet"

They said that the new battery capacity is up to 3x, or the same capacity is reduce battery size up to 1 / 3.

so for the future phone depend to this technology.

    eg. 1300mAh become 3900mAh

you can use the phone 3 times as long as now.

but this technology will use in japan first.

  • @tongsanba This needs to become available worldwide! Sounds pretty sweet if you ask me :o

  • Totally agree. I can barely get 1 day of charge out of my iPhone 4. The iPhone 3G was good for almost twice that. Thumbs Up!

  • @myapplezone Thanks - Yeah we need an evolution!

  • Totally agree. But I have 80% on my iPhone :D

  • @DelValleTime Lucky timing, I guess. lol

  • @marquesbrownlee 3% right now.. was 100% this morning

  • Agree and when my phone is not in use for more than 5 minutes and I'm not expecting important calls or immediate texts, then it's on airplane mode. I read somewhere, source evades me atm, that it's also due to service providers kicking us off after a period of time, to reduce to their load and having our phones reconnect to retrieve messages. The load is less on them, but more on us as the phone takes more battery reconnecting then staying connected. Often why being on the fringe is teh suck.

  • @MrHasie Nexus S 4g and it still lasts a day, even with numerous "hacks" :\

  • @MrHasie That's ridiculous! My carrier doesn't do that but I have a lot of control over my data usage so that helps.

  • Batteries are the bane of my life. That's why I don't use guitar pedals any more. The hassles with battery made them really unreliable. And wondering whether the battery would last the song (let alone the gig!) was enough for me to forget them. Now with anything, the first thing I ask about is the battery.

  • @learneasyguitar I agree with you!

  • hey boss my Epic Touch 4g ..yes i ended up getting it..well its got some insane battery life...seriously ! about a day of full heavy usage. charge at night and good in the morning

  • @backdoorman1971 Yeah I'm proud of Samsung for improving their display technology enough to get the battery life to last longer. But still... A week vs 2 days. lol

  • @marquesbrownlee well i'm talking about abusing this phone..all day youtube, poweramp, browser, email sync all day, brightness all the way up *even when it hurts my eyes* phone calls and messaging. its great bro ..an average person could probably get more than a day ..i dont think its toooo bad

  • Have you seen the companion core on the Tegrea 3? It's a brilliant idea. Look up the white paper. I think we are go going to have to engineer better computer software and hardware components to get better battery life we want for the time being. Maybe some day there will be a grand battery breakthrough, but there is no reason we can't better engineer the rest of the mobile device until then.

  • @Stocklone I've looked it up. I really like the thought of it! And I agree - Making the rest of the parts more battery efficient would be a great move until the magical breakthrough =]

  • @marquesbrownlee hehehehehehe you think I didn't know... *wink* *wink*....

  • My Nokia 7C holds out for the better part of a week. It's not an android but it's "smart" in every other regard and has an 8MP camera and HD video.

Fuck android phones. I could never use a phone I'd have to charge every damn day.

  • @mrebyers In that case you won't enjoy ... Any smartphone coming out for a long time :o

  • when i bought the first evo at a sam's club kiosk, the lady more than insisted i get a car charger and boy was she right. before the evo i had a nokia 5800 and battery life wasnt an issue so i had no idea how bad it was.

  • @simply1lloyd Yeah smartphones these days don't get battery life like they used to!

  • 82%

  • @EmoHaircutMan That's my lucky number. =]

  • My battery is sitting at 50%. Charge mine every night while I sleep, well try to sleep that is.

  • @cosmoknight74 Yeah I try to avoid charging when I sleep because it tends to sit on the charger charged.

  • AGREED 200+%

  • @DJDREXTV Thanks!

  • 8%

  • @samywamy10 That's pretty bad!

  • Hey, can you tell me what Screen Recorder you would recommend for Gaming and just recording your desktop? I've been having trouble deciding and I'm not getting Fraps a 50 second Video takes 50 minutes to upload lol, Nice Vidoes also! They are always fully detailed and well put.

  • @HaloFaction Try BB Flashback. It's been really smooth for me. Thanks for the feedback!

  • @marquesbrownlee Yup no problem, and thanks for the really fast replys! One more question? How do you get your small Tabs for Google Chrome? I love that how they are put smaller instead of bigger and more cluttered?

  • @HaloFaction I actually just did an (unpublished) video on that! Check out my channel. IT's called "pinned tabs" =]

  • @marquesbrownlee Alright going to check it out now, I'll leave you the feedback on what i think about it.

  • @marquesbrownlee So, it's still uploading now? If so can you tell me when it's finished?
