  • don't know what i would give to see this now.... this performance is better than all the shitty pseudo-industrial band of today

  • I wish I was born ten years earlier so I could have gone to see NIN back in these times.

  • God took his time scarring Trent Reznor for Trent to make this masterpiece

  • anybody else notice that trent wears a lot of longsleeve shirts in the fragile era??

  • Incredible

  • totally fuckin badass

  • Do you have this in higher quality?

    Where does it come from?

    Thanks

  • if you look up epic in the dictionary, theres a link to this video.

  • awesome song from a great band! this was NIN in their prime.

  • @Brendo2345

    So very True!

  • God, this is mezmorizing.

  • this songs blows my head away, sets adrenalin free and makes me feel like a maniac, ready to start the day.

  • love this version of the song compared to the way it has been changed a/ played and played in the past few years

  • Wow!!! Thats a great fucking opening song..... If this was....

  • i didnt know he played guitar during this song

  • @252477514 Shit if the man had more arms he could be the whole band.

  • @StinkyGreenBud well really he is the whole band just not live

  • fucking amazing. no more could describe how badass this version of the song is, not to mention The Fragile album it self.

I think the band was at its best during the Fragility Tour.

  • Too Fucked Up to Care Anymore!!!!

  • B E A U T I F U L !

  • best live version ever

  • definitely, angriest song ever.

  • Absolutely.

  • The fragile album is a masterpiece.

  • Yes, it's my favorite album, with the Downward Spiral as a close second.

  • i feel like they're too different to compare

  • All of NINs albums openers can translate amazingly into a live set opener, but this is definately my favourite for it. That said, I prefer the way they've been playing it on the latest tour, the start of its a bit different, more toned down.

  • @steverzilly, Fuck yes and amen. Regarding it's placement on the album, it sets up the central tonic theme for The Fragile as a whole unlike any other work I can recall or care about.

  • Now I'm Nothing is the only other opener to compare to Somewhat Damaged and Mr. Self Destruct. I remember seeing them in Winter 2006, they opened with a few seconds of Pilgramige then into Mr. Self Destruct...real cool.

  • The ending is just... divine.

    Where the fuck were you?

  • That and Mr Self Destruct. Best opening tracks ever...

  • it's crazy, they open with this song, most bands don't even have a song this good to close with

  • I saw this on June 10th in Burgettstown, Pennsylvania. They opened with Home into this song, and it was fucking AWESOME. Definitely one of my favorites live.

  • favorite NIN song. i fucking love it

  • omg how fucking good was that live! i wish he played that in sydney

  • i have a new favorit nin song now

  • The Fragile is the album that really opened my eyes with what was possible with music. It's probably the most important album in my life for that very reason.

  • @socialbenthos same here my first nin album

  • @socialbenthos Amen

  • Too fucked up to care anymore...

  • This is realy laod!!. I play this cd when I am realy angry, and it helps. Because Trent is so honest with his feelings. He is a genius, and it `s the best cd ever.

  • That's fucking dope!!!

  • fuck i love this song.

  • Both this album and Marilyn Manson's Antichrist Superstar were created at the same time and place weren't they?

  • No. Antichrist Superstar was in 1996, the Fragile was in 1999.

  • Oh, he only began to write material for this at that time then. Thanks for answering.

  • Where is this video from?

  • this machine is obsolete !!!!!!!

  • the best musician ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • the best band ever!!!!

  • best NIN song ever???

    its gotta be up there

  • drink of the fountain of decay

  • i want to see them live again so bad! NIN is amazing - especially live, the entire arena goes nuts..gawd i love it

  • fucking amazing. just amazing. unbelievable

  • This song has so much energy! I hope they play it when i see them in Tulsa in November.

  • i was looking for this song to scream today this:

    Broken bruised forgotten sore

Too fucked up to care anymore!

FUCK THIS FUCKING SHIT HOLE OF A WORLD

  • This song has to be my favorite. I wish this would be a frequent concert pick for NIN. They only played this during the Fragility tour, and a few other obscure shows here and there, as far as I know. Again, I wish this would be a frequently played song at their shows.

  • Let me put it this way: I wish this was in the same ballpark as Closer or Head Like A Hole.

  • this is one of the best lyrics of nin, and one of the best songs, and day you´ll agree, but i hope you never have to... for your own good...

"Taste the wealth of hate in me"

  • it was played at every show in summer 06

  • Yeah, found that out. I just wish this would be played as much as "Hurt", or "Head like a Hole"...

  • not played in kansas city in 06. But that was ok, i got loaded anyway.

  • It's on the DVD "Beside You in Time" too,

  • could be the best song on the fragile

  • Thats just awesome! My favourite NIN song.

  • Wow that's one angry man.

  • Yeah, eight years ago.

He then 'disappeared' for half a decade for rehab or something like that.

He's released three albums since 2005 that continue the NIN tradition of high quality.

Oh, these newer albums aren't 'angry' - They have a wider appeal.

This song is one of my favourite songs. I'm an angry man, myself. Inside my rotten core.

  • THIS SONG SLAYS THE WORLD.

  • some of NIN's best songs aren't played on the radio.

  • my local rock station is gay they only play edited version of Closer and Head Like a Hole.

  • This song and reptile are my favorite NIN songs. :D

  • THOSE ARE MY FAVS TOO!!!!

  • definitely

  • You know something, I actually prefer the live version over the one on the album.

  • mabe robin will make them sound like they did for the fragility tour

  • Can't wait til they come to L.A.

I know i wont be disappointed

  • Finck is back!!!

  • Makes me angry, alot of people like stab eachother in el back... just to cause drama, to consildate this "Othello" great shakespeare play, Iago is such a bastard but is viewed as a good person. Some people in the world just have that gift garrrrrrrr.

  • one of my best song ever

  • the part where he says

"Far back, off the side, and far away Is a place where I hide, where I stay. Tried to say, tried to ask, I needed to, All alone, by myself, where were you? How could I, ever think, its funny how Everything you swore would never change, It's different now, just like you. We'd always say, "We'll make it through." Then my head, fell apart, and where were you?" My favorite part.

  • Yea, those lyrics and the way they are delivered have always felt like a window into my past.

A very special song to me.

  • This song has SO much meaning for me.

  • this isn´t one video, right? trent wears two different things...or are my eyes confusing me?

  • This is compiled from many live shows all within one audio track. The entire Fragile DVD is set up that way, and it's most obvious on the guitarist since his hair changes from city to city...

  • this is fan-made, not from aatchb

  • still good though

  • you are amazing ac1d. i love all your nin videos. thnks for exsisting

  • This is the MOST important song in my life! This song got me through some of the shittiest times. The best NIN song IMO...

    "Broken, bruised, forgotten, sore

Too fucked up to care anymore..."

  • Someday i hope i can destroy something listening to NIN...woah, that would be great^^

  • one of the best off the fragile

  • The sound quality is awesome is there anyway I can download this? I'm been waiting years to get this version of Somewhat Damaged (live).

  • maybe try downloading realplayer onto your computer then downloading this video with it. find a programme to extract the audio files or if you had some sort of a recorder or a mini disc player that

  • just like you would always say we'd make it through, didn't quite, fell apart, where the **** were you? wow, awesome

  • yeah that whole part is so insane. i love the way it builds from the little break.

  • old band > new band. New band is still really good though. They just had a more raw, meaner sound back then.

  • nah, aaron is the man ;)

  • WOOT!

  • you meant Old Band is greater than new band RIGHT?

  • Its not old band new band. Its just Trent. Those people playing do pretty much nothing in terms of songwriting, its just Trent and always will be just Trent.

  • this SD version is from 1999, btw.

  • anyone went to the first london brixton gig back in march? they started off with somewhat damaged - that was a unforgettable mental trip!!!

  • this version is better than the new one

  • cool, intro sounds good, fucking awesome

  • old intro sounds better.

  • I also prefer the newer intro, but this looked awesome.

  • cool, but i prefer the intro they use now

  • and all that should have been with the dubs

  • Yeah. Very good video. I knew that, i dont know from where. Focking cool.
