@Cryptnar not sure I understand your meaning... There are many regional cultures within Japan, with their own dialect, traditions, festivals, etc. But they're all "Japanese." If you mean, for example, is there Chinese culture within Japan? then for the most part the answer would be no. 99% of the people in Japan are Japanese, so while aspects of American culture are very popular here, those aspects are still assimilated into Japanese culture.
If the foreigner like me go to Japan that already had a drivers license from my country, is I'm required to get a Drivers license for Japan? thanks for this video...
You can drive in Japan for one year on an "international license" easy to get if you have a license in your home country - so check with your home country for how to get one
Where are the gas guzzling suv's? lol..GORGEOUS video. Please do make more. How did you come to live in Japan? LUCKY! I LOVE this place ( at least I would if I could ever get there )
Hate to admit I watched 5 minutes of this, but you're spending your Saturday going to a ballet performance of one of your students? You may possibly be the genkiest JET alive. Sort it out, man. Get on the ball with boozing and chasing skirt. Sheesh...
I was really surprised when you said 100 .000 (190 000) and then still called the city Rural, i live in the most rural area of my country with a city on about 12 000 inhabitans, and it feels sort of big, 190 000 is just massive.
Also it might not be common in America, but Winter tires are also lawfully requiered in the winter season in Europe.
Nice view of the mountain. I really enjoy those kinds of views, not quite as impressive as the views of Mt. Rainier we get here in Seattle, but beautiful nonetheless.
very interesting vid. I really dig the driving vids. I'm not a driver in Japan, but would like to be within the next year or so. I want to get a small car specifically for traveling in the countryside on the weekends.
do people who ride bicycles in the snow have a version of snow tyres too? I guess this is a question for anyone who lives where it snows, unlike me lol....I think it snowed here once....like 45 years ago :S
I always love your driving videos Jason. How did it go? How did she do? I also think you're pretty talented to be able to drive and film at the same time. A question though. Does it cost money to get your tires changed to snow tires or what do you have to do to get it done. I have never seen real snow so I have no idea.
Aaaam.... bla bla bla eeeem... bla bla bla AAAAAAM. hahaha I got out of the counting how many times you said aaaam in this video Jason xD hahaha sorry to tease you but you have never done that earlyer lol. And yeah I like these driving videos =) But I agree with Loczster, HOW can you drive AND film? o___o;
aww. haha Jason i always look forward to your videos!! I was sort of wondering.. are there any local legends about shimane or the lakes around there??.. like the kappa or anything like that?
im curious are their any other cultures in japan ?

Are the diamond symbols on the road for HOV lanes or are they for something else? Could you also tell us what are the other symbols/signs means?
spekion 3 years ago
diamond symbol means a crosswalk is coming up, so slow down/be aware of pedestrians.
Other symbols - some are simply kanji for certain words, like stop.

How enforced are speed limits in Japan?
EzKitty 3 years ago
well - if you see a cop, then it's a good idea to slow down, but I almost NEVER see a cop. And I've never seen a speed trap either.

Busy kids always sound like "Kyôiku Mama".
Maybe it's a clichée, but there's always some truth in clichées I guess.
