@RetroRepair I can't get mine to boot at all, fan comes on but nothing else. Do I have to wire up anything other than power 2+3 cables and vga on the filter board?
I'm not sure how you connected your game board. But what is important is a good power supply with all wires connected, and you need to check the voltages on your boards as well, especially the +5V should be as close as possible to 5.00 Volts.
@uncletom1971 It was my psu after all, +5 was way too low. How do you get it to boot the game without the steering wheel though? I disabled startup test but it still needs to see the hardware to continue.
@RetroRepair Aha. Try to flip one of those DIP swithces on the board. I think it's wither #1, or #4. It will bypass the wheel-check. Or at least it will make booting faster.
@uncletom1971 If I flip DIP 2 it will bypass the wheel init but it still knows the wheel isn't there and won't go any further. DIP 1 I believe bypasses the selftest as it wont then check ram, network etc. It looks like in the video you don't have anything more hooked up than I do here, I tried flipping all the other dips but no go. RJ1 is the same by the way -_-'
@RetroRepair I see... Ok, does the game ask you anything? Do you get any messages? I think that after the steering wheel checking, you're asked to press test-switch or something to jump into test mode, where you can calibrate the controls. However, you can also from there jump into game mode as well. Try it.
@uncletom1971 I would but I don't have any I/O for this, nor a wiring loom. It just gets to the wheel test and asks me to push the test button to manually configure it. There is a test button on board (under the network card) but it doesn't seem to do anything, even when it asks me to push it. I have about ten of them and they all behave the same. I get the feeling your boards were initialized previously and once the dips were set just skipped the test therefore worked without the wheel.
can you really do the stunts it does on the attract mode??? is it worth it???

@binnieb20 Yes, the game has a handbrake, and any manouvers that you see in demo-play you should be able to repeat in game.

Well, I don't have the game complete. This is just the board I'm testing.

Does this run on standard JVS wiring or is it a custom loom?

I appreciate the help by the way, it's been quite helpful even if I didn't get to see the game run!
