had this amp for about 5 years played lots of gigs, plenty of volume great live sound, its never missed a beat, except you have to watch for input jack its prone to breaking, i just put input lead through handle to stop me yanking at the lead when walking around...... you cant beat this amp for price and sound.....
@philgratton Where did you go to replace the jack? i got this amp off a buddy so i dont have any warranty info or anything like that and the damn plastic jack is the only plastic input on the entire amp but its the one i absolutley need lol
@RmNaNtCbScRrn The Marshell MG101FX I beleive is an ok amp, its Solid I think... I would get this becuase its so much cheaper and it takes affects well if you ever plan on using a unit such as Boss GT-8 or GT-10.
hey I use the same amp for my band ! could you please tell me the settings you have on for this kind of sound. please i'd really appreciate it. its such a killer sound :)
With the amp either mic'd to the pa system or lined out to it there would be pleanth of power ! Im currently using a 15 watt amp lined out to my 800 watt pmp2000 pa system no problem with power ! we play out with no problems
Watch the input jacks on these things. I had to send mine back 3 times because the jack broke. I just picked my valveking half stack up from layaway, so my GMX is retiring from club use. I'll always love this amp though (although I have the 210 not the 212)
@fretburner18 Is it possible to install upgrade inputs? I do not do shows so never had to move it too much, I know the knobs can be crappy and fall off... I love my amp, but know its not perfect, but hell I can afford to buy a new one ever three to four years and will still be cheaper than most other amps!
@Albee213 I'm not entirely sure about that. I believe that after my jack broke the 3rd time, they may have replaced the plastic parts with metal, but I could be wrong.
@ROBERT78950 Yep. The Digitech RP-150 works very well with it too. It helps you take the sonic variety up a notch. With that pair, I could play anything that I thought of. Metal, Rock, Blues, Classical, Funk, Jazz, etc. I never play country, but I'm sure if you turn up the treble, you can get that classic twang.
@johnsonville093 I dont know about brand new, I paid a 130 for this one used and its very loud, but if I were to play at a club with just one I would try to mic it, I have two of them I play together when I want it real loud. I think new they are $250 or so. This works great with Boss effects units too when you use the line/aux in and do not use speaker sims for the boss
@johnsonville093 dude its good but if you are looking for a good heavy distortion this amp just doesnt do well for that in my opinion if you get a cheap amp like this one then hook up a digitech pedal like the gnx 4 serries it will sound great
@David71293 I use the preamp input but it sounds the same either way, I jsut prefer the stereo effects, I have two of them and with I want it really loud I run it in the loop input on each AMP.
You know, It is the wiring in my house, I thought it was the amp buzzing but I have used it other placed and its actualy pretty clean. When I use the noise gate in my Boss GT-8 its silent. I recomend these amps to anyone that does not want to spend a lot of money. The clean works well with fenders but it does lack the "tube" sound. I jam a lot of different types of music and play some Pink Floyd and I can mimic a lot of the tones Gilmour uses.
I think so, I have used many different AMPs and really, this thing rocks and works well with pedals. It has lots of options and built in effects that sound pretty good. I use the power amp only by plugging in the AUX-L/R with the Boss GT-8 and its really clean sounding and pretty powerful. They are so cheap that if you want more power just buy two of them. I got mine used for about $130 and I have an older one and combined its incredibly loud.
I do not remember them, I use my GT-8 but set this up while messing around with it to see what it could do, when I have time I will mess with it again and see if I can recreate the tone.
I think this was the settings. Behringer combo amp 2 12" Sure SM58 microphone Drive 6.5 amp British mode Hot Speaker U.K. Low 6.5 Mid 5 High 7.75 These settings gave it a realistic amp sound
All I can say is "WOW!" I used to run a 150w 4x12 and with my old drummer, you couldnt hear over him we at all, my amp was strained to the max and that was running very little bass and mostly mids to make it louder.
how loud can this amp go? cuz im thinking of getting it for my band. and we play shows so would this amp be useful for playing shows cuz i dont have like a half, or full, stack.
You will be pushing it if you have a loud drummer, I use two of them and thats plenty loud. One will just barely do it with some strain in the tone. If you have two guitar players that will help
man I am pissed I bought the head of this amp about 4 years ago and it just broke down and died I have no idea what happened to it, but the 4 year time I had with it was fun and enjoyable to play now I'm gonna save up probably for the Hughes and Kettner Triamp or switch blade.
nice man! Check out my tone mine is..... drive - 10 amp - calif Mode - Hot Speaker - U.S Low - 7 Mid - 0 High - 9 Level - 10 Presence -10 And for solos i put the effect on 47
Matters... If you use all effects from peddels or multi-effects then either is good. If you want good distortion you will need the GMX. It has great built in effects and distortions. The GX sucks for that. I have both. With my Boss GT-8 they both sound the same...
I have used the Boss Metal Zone and the Boss GT-8 effects processor. They both work great. I prefer the effects unit plugged into the effects return or the AUX input. My other vids are all using the GT-8 and the Behringer GMX212.
nice! I had the V-Ampire combo awhile back and got great sounds out of it. People diss these, but they can piss off - I'll use my ears and decide for myself what I like. Maybe they just can't dial in an amp... LOL
i have the same amp it sounds like he has the mids at about 4 the low at about 6 and the highs at about 5 i think hes using preset 36 on the first and 94 on the second part and if hes not using a pedal he has it set to british sound full presence and high gain
the cali mode is pretty sweet i actually just got a pedal for my amp so im using the tweed clean and british mode plugged into a mxr dd-11 distortion pedal with low at 8 mid at 3 and my high at 7 and presence at 10 level is 10 but of course since u know how loud this amp is i have my master volume at 1.5 lol when no one is home i set it to 3 fuckin nice as amp ill tell u that
I have another vid that sounds better if you look at my profile. The settings are that video. I will post them here if you want but that vid sounds a lot better

what?!, WOW, is right, on your end, either your amp is messed, or your drummer is thor, 150w could play over a drummer on 3-4.
