You and I agree the system is or will go bankrupt . Will health care reform mean that money will be created out of thin air to pay for it? The next generations will get social security and health care too? Is it screw everyone who still has to live in this corrupt debt ridden country, I want it NOW and who cares about the generations who will have to pay for it...Will there ever be a peak in debt? Hospital emergency rooms will not accept cash payment in advance of treatment. Despite whatever laws are in place, If you have no insurance, expect to be refused.

Its not like that as of right now, a close friend just got hit by a car and had to go to the ER, he was seen, treated, and given perscriptions and he has no insurance!

Just recently a robbery victim was left to die of a gunshot wound less than 50 yards from the door of a hospital emergency room. Hospital staff refused to render assistance. It seems proper procedure requires 911 must first dispatch emergency transport. By the time help arrived about twenty minutes later, the man had bled to death.

All anecdotes, and statutory regulations aside, hospitals will follow whatever policy dictated by its insurer.
