I was hoping that they'd go batshit crazy with talisman powers... Why couldn't the chase scene involve the invisible astral projection of the Yang animal-truck (brought to life by the rat) while Jade (in the Yin truck) frantically tries to find the real horse (which the monkey has conveniently transformed into) in order to heal Jackie's cuts and bruises caused by smashing through a wall with superstrength at hyperspeed, all the while protected by youthful immortality?

According to an episode entitled, "The Masks of the Shadowkhan", the Shadowkhan are actually Japanese-based, summoned by a mask that holds the spirit of a Demon named an "Oni".

Shendu apparently stole that mask from Tarakudo, who is the true master of the Shadowkhan. He—and Daolon Wong—used the power of that mask to summon and control the Shadowkhan.
