  • Wow! I love the way you move so smoothly through the asanas! I was able to do this unsupported on the first try! (I have done other balancing poses for a while.)

  • i do headstands much differently....most likely simpler and easier

  • @FineFlu this is a yoga headstand, not a normal headstand.

  • i can do that but i suck at yoga lol

  • I remember when I could do this when I was 10. Used to do this all the time just for fun. Haha. Now? Not so much. I'll start from the more beginner poses. :P

  • At 2:26, I paused it and turned my laptop upside down just for the lulz.

  • ok... i just decided to try this today, and i managed to succeed in doing this on a carpet on my third try and hold it for like 10 seconds, away from the wall. wow.

  • sorry and no offence thats as advanced as waking up.

  • great. let's do headspins now.

  • how much beer do you usually drink between yoga exercises?

  • DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANG.... Im impressed. That is NOT something easy to do. She is STRONG! I wanna try this.

  • so how is this helpful?

  • im 12 and i know how to do that

  • I ALWAYS WIPE OUT WHEN I GET THE WOBBLES

  • what a nice position, very.

  • I am here again! I am practising headstand and I have to watch it again and again. haha!

  • I met her husband a few weeks ago! He was kind enough to give me, a backpacker, a lift from Rosslare to Cork. I completely flipped when I found out that he was married to her.

  • @caitlinesful Hey Caity, how did you get on traveling in Ireland?

    T was pretty wet wasn't it ?

  • That is a body to be proud of. I can only imagine just how well tuned her whole system is. I bet her mind is just as healthy to. This woman is what should be honoured in the media. As a role model there is no comparison when you think of todays fame whores. She is inspiring to me.

  • Hang on is that headstand more advance than the one with your elbows on the floor. I don't do yoga and could do that headstand before the other one

  • ok so i beenn wondering. what happens if one atm goves way and your head roles slightly to the side. would this serverly hurt if not break your neck? or do you only role forwards and backwards

  • should be able to hover a few inches over your mat, for at least a few breaths before landing. shouldn't come crashing down, like she did. bad form. also...forearms slaying out. not good

  • should be able to hover a few inches over your mat, for at least a few breaths before landing. shouldn't come crashing down, like she did. bad form.

  • im a yoga instructor

    every posiion is available

  • or at 1;50 instead of just lifting from there you can put your knees on your elbows, and go up from there. Thats how I did it.

  • but that would be a handstand, so nvm...

  • press 3 repetely while watchinqq the video

    then laugh XDD

  • not possible if your torso isnt larger than your lower body

  • @chassolefdx That is where flexibility comes in. Knowledge FAIL.

  • A friend of mine recently sent me a new Yoga mat for my birthday, what a great gift. I have been doing Yoga for years and have never seen anything this innovative, ever.

    These mats are truly awesome...

    SELFTRAINERMAT. com

  • That's a nice starting position with your hands on the floor :| I need you to teach my girl friend that position.

  • I just kicked a picture frame and broke it :(

  • @Smokie181 LMBOOOOOO

  • your right sholder is lower then your left, just thought you might work on that.

  • it is really simple, a tip: split the movement in tree steps. 1) put your legs up your arms yout elbows touching your "internal part of the leg" close to your knee 22) put your head down 3) kick up and straight all your body... if you fall, only got a foward roll or try to fall into bridgue

  • damn esther what are you doin tonight

  • Oh oh oh shit i just straight up hurt myself just broke my coffee table, knocked over my CD stan, and my lap my mom is going to kill me. Im so scared to face my mom when she gets home omg i think im going to have a heart attack she is going to murder me. Let me see if i can super glue it back together. Does anyone know what the strongest glue is im going to Wal Mart?

  • Thats it ???

  • not that simple

  • wow i was able to do the head stand and this is my first time doing yoga!!!

  • *eyetwitching*

  • i think a period of basic yoga gives a person strength to control themselves in a headstand. If you're out of shape, you probably can't support yourself without strain and will result in injury.

  • wooow!!!! i never new i could do that!!!! but its so easy... i got it onmy first try... and im not trying to brag, srry if i am :x

  • I didn't know that was advanced, I can actually do that. I feel a little proud of myself after watching this.

  • como puede hacer para quitar luego las manos?

  • @90nic09 english dude

  • @sochoii He Said How do you Do it To Where You Dont Use Your Hands Anymore?

  • @sochoii can I then take of my hands?

  • Yea, she makes this look so easy! It takes a lot of time and practice to be able to accomplish this without hurting yourself.... *Voice of Experience*

  • I have to train a lot still

  • Wow! :D

  • oh wow... you make it look so easy...

  • would this be a bad idea if you have neck problems?

  • i did this for my first try and i have never done yoga before

  • It should be mentioned that this pose must not be approached before about 1 yr of practice. (Not due to any inability to do it from the first day, but the subtle energy channels, the nadis, are not opened at the start. And that can lead to increased intraoccular pressure which can lead to glaucoma.) And not standing on the soft spot! The hand bracing is important and is missing. Also, in the advanced stages when this is maintained for 1h or 1h30 you don't need to jump your feet. Otherwise good..

  • The father of all asana's (postures) Shoulder stand is the mother of all asana's

  • holyy coeww

  • how i love to do it but im afraid that i might injure myself =P

  • Not challenging or advanced.

  • leuk, duidelijk uitgelegd

  • nice trick, but what does standing on your head do for you?

  • @wlchambers it help circulation and increases the strength of scalp

    and neck

  • @wlchambers it help circulation and increases the strength of scalp

and neck. no workout can balance all as well

  • @wlchambers reverses the blood flow to the head

  • is there a technique your supposed to use to stop ur head fromm hurting under all the pressure? the floor's hard you know..

  • This is a tripod stand, not a head stand.

  • This is tri-pod stand, not headstand. It shows very good core strength, however.

  • @zodo777 don't be rude for some people it's hard it's easy for me but I didn't say that

  • i can do that but i go from handstand 2 headstand :P

  • so cool , i wish i can do it.

  • nice

  • Okay lets go back to beginners video lol

  • Is this form of headstand , with elbows up and hands down forming a tripod, considered inferior or less advance than the form of headstand where you fold your hands behind your head then carry the weight with the crown of the head and the elbows? I find your version much easier, since the three weight-bearing points are further apart.

  • @Fuliginosus No, it is considered easier, at least, by some yoga schools.

  • I'm so alone

    ingo.rimpler@gmx.de

  • Every time I try head stands, I sprain my neck. Wondering if it is really worthwhile for me and whether I should avoid it. I hear that normally the head should not take as little weight as possible. For some reason, my head always take most of the body weight. Any hints about what I may be doing wrong? Thanks you

  • how is it even possible to touch the floor with your head? :l

  • you dont need to be strong for this...you just need to learn how to balance your weight

  • I Could :DDD

  • Hey, Check out my headstand controll, not quite as good as this but its still awsome. Search for my video 'being myself audioslave' and it will be the top result. Enjoy :-)

  • WOW she is good at this!

  • I almost did it except I couldn't put my legs up

  • owww!

  • How long does it take to get the strength to do this? Or to notice a difference at all?

  • Search for 'TheYogaSchool' here on youtube. Cool new videos being put up. Thought you guys might like it.

  • this is not a difficult posture. And I do not recommend students use the wall for any shirsasana. This would be great if you stopped saying, 'ok', 'ok', 'ok'

  • lol wut did that just really happen... xD

  • joga is so sexy ;)

  • Say.. OW!

  • very good i wish soon i can do headstand..

  • Wow that was incredible! and you are very beautiful :)

What are some spiritual benefits when yoga becomes a part of ones life?

  • yeah

  • i can do it better

  • This is a first, from standinding position. Not recommended.

    Namaste

  • @doombow666 That' s a Dutch accent indeed o.o Im Dutch myself but I get all my lessons in english... but yeah, that' s a WOW indeed xD

  • do you think yoga would help strengthen techniques in sports like dance, figure skating, and gymnastics?

  • i need to take her class!!! where is she located!

  • @beyonceistop10 She is dutch, but she is in Ireland.

  • Kinky!

  • this worked easier than most headstand techniques, i got into a headstand immediately! thank you!

  • dont do this at home

  • Can I ask why

Because I stretch at home to be Flexiable

  • nice position 8^]

  • esther>heidi klumm

  • oh my !:)

  • Thank you very much for this instructional, you made it very easy for me, I got it right on the first try :)

  • This takes so much control and practice. Good on her..I hope I can control my body like this one day.

  • for me its easier to do headstand than handstand.

  • I bet she's dutch! daag!!

  • after i do a headtsand the top part of my head cracks

is this normal, whats wrong with my skull?

  • wow...i can`t even get my head to the floor...i`m sooooo unflexible..:-(

  • well if its the headstands you're after, you don't have to worry. I am very unflexible, but I can do all sorts of headstands xD

  • I'm in advanced yoga. I can't even climb up the wall and hold my torso in the air lol.. the chances of me doing this are nil.

  • Only hand/head stand and not headstand.

  • oh my gosh i did that in my yoga class at school its really easy :)

  • she's definately dutch :-D

    Good teaching!

  • This pose helps the blood circulation to your head . very power full. because we standing towards the gravitation

  • Sweet accent

  • thanks for the nice and easy way of teaching yoga..^_^

  • I LOVE YOGA!

  • Niet... Irish, laddie.

  • no scandinavien i think

  • @saltbear

    nonono!

  • a good reason to do this is for shaolin training to strengthen the neck

  • whats the purpose of having your head on the floor? is that relaxing somehow? lol

  • Wow, that is so hot! You are awesome!!! I hope that one day I can do that.

  • wow shes a beast

  • WOOOWW VERY GOOD !

  • It is an amazing posture and it covers step by step instruction of head stand just like my book in lulu publication "Yoga for Every day Health"by Betsy James .Why spending money for yoga class while you can get whole yoga lesson for 14.95.

  • I tried headstand in the yoga class, but it didn't work. I was so much afraid to collapse, didn't feel supported enough through my teacher...

  • @latanyasdance try it against a wall and think about your core moving towards the wall rather than your legs as you kick up.

  • Fabulous...xx

  • omg she tought mme im showing off in front of everybody thnxx

  • like there is more than one way to travel to Rome there are more ways ans variations to the headstand.

  • She should breakdance!

  • Great video

  • actually a handstand

  • A handstand is without head touching floor.

  • Arse @latanyasdance , you don't know what you are talking about.

If your head is not on the floor then it's a forearm stand.

And anyway, try doing a 30 minute headstand without your head on the floor.

  • thats pretty god damn simple first try and i got it

  • same here! But I'm an ex-gymnast so I can see why everyone thinks it's difficult, it IS difficult for people who aren't experienced with that.. I love her videos, though <3

  • mmmmmmmmmmmm!!!!

  • very hot

  • I remember being able to do this when I studied Yoga. Only difference is that you look better than me. Haha. Nice effort.

  • sexy
