I used to just use the shampoo my parents bought from the super market and I used to have to use loads of conditioner for it to seem to have an effect. However, I stoped being such a cheap ass and switched to Matrix and it made such a huge difference!
I use a very small amount (about the size of a 10 cent coin.. Australia btw) and leave it in for about three minutes. So although it may cost a little extra, it lasts longer and works wonders.
I have used it but my salon where it was sold left so i get it sometimes when i go out of town. but i LOVE it soo much! But the volumizing makes my hair a bit to thing and big soo u also use a sleek spray ;]
Sally's has shampoos with the exactly same ingredients as Amplfy and the Sleek Matrixsshampoos. The brand is GVP and they are about 6 bucks for a bigger bottle. They also have Paul MItchell and Biolage.
it is not good to wash ur hair everyday because it makes ur hair thinner and ur hair can fal out somtimes. and u shud usually leave the conditioner in ur hair for about 3 minutes because if u leave it longer it will make ur hair greasy.
I use this shampoo and conditioner of L'oreal, and this Matrix is super for my hairs :D I love also shampoos of Alfaparf. It is great resolution for poor hairs (sorry for my english:-) )
Do you switch up your shampoos? I hear that it's better for your hair than just using one kind. :) & I also hear that conditioner doesn't do ANYTHING for your hair unless it's in there for at LEAST 20 minutes. Just thought I'd give you my tips. :)
Not sure where you heard about the 20 minute rule but my hair stylist whose been to a good school and praciticing for a fair few years tells me to leave mine on for about 10 minutes, and my hair has been bleached and damanged alot.
I have used the Matrix Curl Life.I have naturally curly hair but I really didn't see it define my curls like I hoped it would. So now I use the Matrix Sleek look everyday and I love it because I can straighten my hair and it detangles and takes away all the products I might have used when I scrunch my hair the day before.I ALWAYS buy the big bottles at Ulta because usually they have a sale like BOGO free or 9.99 per Bottle!!!
Hey, u know i left a comment on your other video saying u dont have enough hair, but i would like to take it back, i apologize, coz i think u do have nice hair, maybe it wasnt that clearly visible in your fructis video, sorry babe.
hey julie both this shampoo and conditioner together was at jc penney for only $20 and i remembered your review and i had to get it and i absolutely LOVE IT!!
It is amazing for curly hair because I have curly hair and it moustirize my curly hair to make it softer and more volumized, i will be doing a review about it in 2 weeks!
Julie! Great review, I'll keep this in mind! By the way, where did you get the mirror?? I've been trying to find a big one like that one!! Please let me know! Thanx :)
hmm. well some people at my work said it doesn't work all that great. but i wouldn't know cause i haven't tried it. lol. but i think i will now. oh and i work at a salon. at mastercuts. and we sell it there. but yeeah i think ima give it a try.
Hummmm, I'll have to give this a try. I love Matrix, especially Biolage. Admittedly, I love the smell of Biolage, however, I think it too is a wonderful product. I use the Biolage smoothing shampoo and conditioner. Thank you so much for this review.
The lathering in your hair is created by sulfates, these have been shown to strip hair of its natural moisture and rough up the cuticle. This is usually most important for color treated hair, especially bright colors or covering gray, because it can cause it to fade.
Sally Beauty supply has a formulation comparison for less than $7 for 16 oz., if you like the product but not the price.
If you are looking for sulfate free & volumizing go for Coloresse comparable to Pureology at Sally.
ive taken cosmetology classes and i've learned that it's recommended to switch your shampoo every 6-9 months. i figured, since someone's happy with a shampoo and it seems to work for them, why change it?! however, professionals say you should. =o/
Switching shampoos is only required if you're using shampoos with silicon, switching to a new shampoo with often remove the silicon build up of the previous shampoo. However most professional products don't contain man made silicons which can build up on your hair making it dry and dull looking, so if you're using a professional product it is not necessary to switch shampoos.
Have you tried Redken? If so, how does it compare to the Matrix products? I've always want to try this Matrix shampoo but I bought the Paul Mitchell one instead....
is your hair naturally straight? and do you have any tips on growing your hair long? i stopped straightening/blow drying it, and it really made a diff. my hair grew faster
Nioxin is the only shampoo specially created for hair loss, it's pricey but well worth the money it prevents hair from falling out and also encourages new hair growth. It's good for thinning and balding.
Nioxin is not the only shampoo created for hair loss, Sally Beauty supply carries a product called Nutri-Ox made by Zotos. It is a very affordable alternative. It is less than $7 for 12oz. I know a lot of people that love it and come back for it more than once.
yea thanks a lot for posting this video because i saw the shampoo and conditioner and i was going to buy at a store but i was like no thanks maybe later.
Why on earth does it matter how many times Julie used the word "really?" Sometimes in videos, especially reviews, it's easy to get stuck using the same word because you can't exactly go back and check to see if it's a word you've already used. It sounds to me like you have too much time to kill if you're counting the exact number of times she used it. WOW. *lmao*
I will definately try these out! Other people have to much time on their hands if they are counting how many times you say really. Or even care. Thanks for taking the time to do this review.
I agree Julie, I love the girly & flowery type smells.. But what works, works right?! So I might have to give these a try. Right now I'm just using herbel essence straightening shampoo, And I like that alot, I have really wavy hair so it makes my hair somewhat straight. But I think it's time to embrace my wavyness! Thanks alot for this review. Hopefully they sell them in Canada :] Take care love.
Matrix is a great line, I love their products. If you have an Ulta in your area it is a great place to buy large sizes of shampoo and conditioner. A few times a year they have a quart sale, and the Matix quarts are only about $14 each at that time... last time the friends and family sale was at the same time so it was an additional %40 off!
I used to love matrix products (especially Biolage) but a few months ago I decided to use animal testing free products. And since matrix is owned by L'oreal, I decided not to use it.
Your supposed to shampoo your hair twice, so the first time you shampoo it sometimes wont lather depending on how dirty or how much product you used, but after the first shampoo cleans the hair, the second one will lather a lot and that means the hair is clean.
at my beauty school we use only matrix, and they have GREAT products :)
Wow! Thanks- I always thought it would dry your hair out if you shampooed it twice. How about if you used a clarifying shampoo- is it still necessary to shampoo twice?
You don't always have to do that. Sometimes that creates build up if you do it often. For people like me it can weigh my hair down. I've heard using a clarifing shampoo once a week or so gets rid of build up. Washing twice really depends on the person's hair.
ilove matrix i was working in a salon and they selled matrix I LOOOOVE IT but i moved 2 mex 3yrs ago and they only sell that in the city and its like 2 hrs away and i dont even know were they sell it :( waaa waaa
i might try this out. i've been trying to be so good to my hair to make up for all the abuse i've put it through. keep making vids julie, you're one of my absolute faves.
I would love to get those but their kinda pricey for my wallet 0_0 Are there any store brands you would recommend that is good for voluminizing>? Thnks =]
you know julie i've been so hesistant on getting this.. cause i've seen it at ulta and i just cant seem to go for it. but you have totally inspired me! i love big hair too :)
I'm a guy with short hair....is this product also for men?
