I just finished my high school and now i want to join a pre-law school at University of Winnipeg, but many people I talked too about my dream they said that I want to waist my time in law school. With all due respect (and I mean that sincerely), I think that Betny's "shrug effect" may be, at least in part, well deserved. If she is referencing College Park High School in Pleasant Hill CA, then her barriers to entry into her current lifestyle are far less than the average person. Contrary to her claim, her high school class' dropout rate was only 6.7%, not 25%. Students there are enfolded in an environment that has high expectations and breeds a healthy sense of educational entitlement.
