  • Very nice, a true American Hero

  • Buford Pusser true american hero and a real man

  • A Real Man.

  • I truly wish the Mcnairy Couty Sherif's Office would put out a web page.

  • I myself along with dad laughed r asses off when we heard about the remake with The Rock! I think that was The Rock trying to help his acting carreer more that telling the story about B. Pusser. We still have the original movie to watch. Great Flick.

  • a very brave man

  • rest in peace you great man of justice-----

  • Very good video, and I agree with Dwana 100%. Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and Kevin Sorbo may be good men and great people, but I feel like those movies did Buford a disjustice. No one should forget the sacrifices this man made for his family and the county he loved, no matter where you are from! I think Joe Don Baker did him best, but Bo Svenson actually looked more like the real Sherriff Pusser, and both played him very well. And, I hope Dwana and her brother's lives are filled with joy.

  • @TheFIRSTFatJohn I havn't seen he one with kevin sorbo, but the one with the rock STUNK.

  • @driver3464

Do not see the Kevin Sorbo versions (He made two of them).

Your eyes will bleed and like the rock version it was a Disgrace to The Pusser Family & to Buford Pusser himself.

  • @TheFIRSTFatJohn

    What a about Brian Dennehy.

a young Dennehy once played Buford Pusser on a TV-movie version of Walking Tall, renamed "A Real American Hero" in 1978.

  • @sparta814 Although I think Brian Dennehy is a very underrated actor, and one of the best in the business, I didn't like his performance in that made-for-TV version. Watch him in the very depressing "Belly Of An Architect" however; he gives the performance of a lifetime there.

  • good vid thank you for posting

  • Awesome!!!...

  • i met the Man when he was going around tennessee with his movie..i remember him and wish the original would re-air.yes he was stopped...all great men fall early..

  • Buford Pusser,6 foot 6...A whole lot meaner than a ton of bricks.

  • An AMERICAN HERO! Marine to Sheriff... Ailed by disease but he did what he did despite outside plague. If you get a CHANCE to visit ADAMSVILLE TN DO VISIT IT! THANX!!!

  • @nviso209 I actually teach at Adamsville High School.

  • @fecklessgadfly fail anyone this year?

  • He remains one of my all time heroes. A great man of true courage and conviction. May God bless his soul.

  • I 1st saw "The Man" Buford Pusser @ a very young age, im now 40 years old & i like him now more than ever i like what he stood for & how he comfronted things, another words he didnt take no SH** from anybody, i think they should do another remake, but do it from start to finsh of how Buford lived his life & do it exactly the way his daughter would want it to be done. Its ppl like Buford that we stand up for what we believe in (for me its The 2nd Amendment)...

  • I enjoyed your video. I really hope their is another remake because although I enjoyed the one with the Rock I would just like to see one follow more closely with what happened to him in real life, like the older ones.

  • I've been through Adamsville a few times, at one time out there i ate at Pusser's family resturant and met Buford's daughter. I would like to see a good remake of Walking Tall.

  • @jac01970

    Waits second!

    4 part question:

    1. You've actually met Dwana Pusser???

    2. What is she really like???

    3. What do she do for a living???

    &

    4. Is the Pusser's Family Resturant still open to this day???

  • One of my life long hero's. The original films were filmed in my home town. Henderson, TN.

  • Glad for you, but I really wish it had been filmed in the county it happened in.

  • @fecklessgadfly The local politicians wouldn't allow it to be filmed there!

  • @meddetect10 yep... politicians can be stupid sometime.

  • Enjoyed video and recent museum visit. I'm just amazed at the ingratitude some people have. Sure there are questions and answers, but at the end of the day heroes are rare. Bufford Pusser would have done like the firemen on 9-11-01, He would have been running upstairs in the WTC NOT down. I wish her were still around, I'd love to meet someone like him. Rare Indeed/ True Hero indeed.

Heroes are not perfect, Just Heroes...

  • Buford Pusser... If Charles Bronson was still alive, THIS Sheriff would have been a great character for him.

  • well done you have to see the 1St one's not the chep remakes ... good one and a keeper for your playlist's...

  • The DRIVE BY TRUCKERS have the OTHER SIDE of the story regarding BUFORD T JUSTICE.

  • The are many more questions+answers concerning Buford Pusser!!! As to why wasn.t his body autopsied?? Who got the money derived from walking tall 1-2-Final chapter?? I would like to see a movie called Walking tall-the true story!!!!

  • There are alot of questions, and I don't pretend to know all the answers. Even in the county there are conflicting reports of what really happened.

  • Didn't the sheriff pull Jimmy Buffets hair? Thats what the song says.

Dang Jared! Sounds like y'all is from Little Rock Tennessee

  • Don't know about the hair pull, but I'm from Bethel Springs/Selmer TN.

  • Hero's don't find destiny, Destiny finds them.

  • God Bless you Sheriff Pusser.

  • Rt On

  • Buford Pusser, Six-foot-Six

Did more damage than DYNAMITE STICKS.

  • I want to know who gets all of the money generated from all of the movies. Someone would think that it would be his daughter, but I don't believe that she does.

  • I know that they checked the brake line on the 'Vette to see if it had been cut, but did they check to see if the brake fluid had been drained?

You KNOW the Feds were involved in his and Pauline's murders. I drew that conclusion after the Ruby Ridge Incident. Then you go back and watch the movie, and they show the scene where he points to a photograph of a meatball italiano and then, HEY! What do ya know? He supposedly turns up dead. They could have shot him in the face and his mother wouldn't

  • @30mikemikevulcan If the car burned a lot of evidence would be destroyed. They didn't have the crime scene investigation knowledge in those days that they do now.

  • I remember as a kid growing up in Tennessee how people would talk about what he was doing and if he had not been murdered by those hoods he could have been Governor or something. We all loved this guy for taking a stand against evil and has always been a inspiration to me. May he rest in Peace knowing that has bravery lives on in so many of us.

  • yatescj77: what proof do you have that what you are saying is true? Do you really have any verbal or written proof? If so upload it to you tube and show me

  • A true hero.

  • excellent video. i'm from jackson tennessee, and buford is one of my childhood heroes.

  • Say there! why did those videos of Eddie

Bond talking about Buford Pusser get

removed of YouTube? Please upload all

    them back up.

  • Those weren't mine, don't know anything about them. Sorry.

  • This man grew up in a corrupt area, knew how corrupt it was and did something about the corruption. He became a Sheriff and went through Hell trying to clean up his county and not backing down from orginized crime. It eventually cost him his life, but his soul can rest for trying to do the right thing. He's set the example for anyone who pins a badge on their chest to never give up the fight. Anyone who wants to criticize his service needs to factually research his service.

  • I used to work with a guy who had worked for the State Troopers out there in West Tennessee, and he said that out THERE, the St. Troopers have to go in to bars and make arrests. One time he and other Troopers were called in to break up a bar fight, and somebody broke a FULL BOTTLE OF BEER over his nose. Messed his nose up pretty bad, too. His wife made him quit the Troopers after that. After all the bad things that happened out there, I speed up when I go through West Tennessee, (too depressing)

  • I generally try not to get in any bar fights, but I guess if I were ever in anything like that, at the time that the State Troopers arrived, I guess that I'd stop and cooperate. Explain everything that happened as best that you can.

  • The previous sheriff James Dickey was killed in a single car accident after he lost control & hit a tree early one morning after spending the night at the Shamrock motel; presumably with Louise Hathcock..August 1st.1964 Buford Pusser was no where around in this well documented event.

  • thanks for posting this video..

  • Care to offer any proof?

  • I believe the book is called "The State Line Mob: A True Story of Murder and Intrigue" Growing up in Northwest Alabama everyone knows everyone. some of the truth gets out, most of it never will.

  • Just so you know, that book is a fictionalized account of what one person thinks happened. Saying that it's the absolute "truth" is like saying "Braveheart" is the true story of William Wallace.

  • Only one way to find out for certain: come down here to Buford Pusser Country and prove us wrong.

You know, we Southerners really need an education ...

  • Comment removed

  • Like I've never heard that before....

  • Walk softly and carry a big stick!

  • @flyboymd82

    WRONG!!!

It's "Speak softly and carry a big stick".

  • What a great video! He is actually related to me. My whole family on my Dad's side is from Adamsville! Thanks for posting!

  • "y'know, he wasn't perfect, don't get me wrong, he was no saint, BUT..."

    Great man and great video!

  • Who is perfect. He did the best he could do in these circumstances.

  • This is a wonderful video about Buford Pusser's life, he truly is an American hero, I have all the movies on his life as well as several books on his life, someday I would like to take a trip to Adamsville to see the museum, his legacy will live on in the hearts of millions, he will never be forgotten.

  • The Christmas comes early this year Santa Clause. Here! Youtube search on: (ALL ORIGINAL UNCUT VERSIONS FROM 1973, 75, 77)

    WALKING TALL 1/16

    WALKING TALL II 1/14

    WALKING TALL III 1/12

Merry X-mas! And to hell with the Rock!

  • Very well done,5 stars easily!!!

  • Thank you for this tribute...

  • the Truckers love Buford, son. They were singin' about the situation from a State Line cat's point of view...playin devil's advocate, dig? You wanna see the lyric sheet? I keep it in my boot...

  • There was a comment but someone that the language was above what I wanted.. so I reposted the edited version

  • I think that it shows a lot of character on the part of Dwana Pusser to admit that her Dad "Had his sins" That's something you'll never hear in the movies. They long like he was a white knight who carried a stick , but telling b**about someone-even if it is good B.S. dishonors him. The truth is that he was probably more like the stereotypical Southern Sheriff-something of a bully-but he had to be that way in order to deal with the STATE LINE MOB..Those guys were f-- brutal.

  • After having seen all three movies, I can see why. If the ends justify the means, I say go for it. Especially when you consider all the laws that our federal government breaks. Even the Constitution has been tossed aside all crumpled up. I believe he was an honest man that did the right thing for the right reason. It may have bent the rules, but it got the job done. I admire the man, and I wish I were like him.

  • They say that Clint Eastwood wanted to portray him in the movie, and they said, "No." And I told somebody that I could think of worse people to portray Sheriff Pusser, and he said Eastwood was too skinny to do the role. And at that time he WAS. That may be why Eastwood really started pumping the iron after that. Really helped his image a lot, I know that.

  • This is a great video of Buford's life. I have all three Hollywood movies about his life and watch them over and over. I am planning a trip to Adamsville to see the museum. This country needs more men like Buford Pusser. A truly great American Hero!

  • hero

  • Absolutely, I was lucky enough to get to go to Adamsville , I went to the Buford Pusser home , the last home he lived in when he died, which is now a museum, it's awesome, all of his things , chair he sat in, his cars are there, the car his wife was killed in, I also went to his gave and families graves , the site it shows on here where he was killed, it is something I'll never forget, also have a couple of emails from his daughter Dwana, he was my hero, a beautiful man with a beautiful heart

  • GEORGIA is eat up with crack cocaine and meth we need more lawmen like Buford he was one hell of a man. he died too soon. Common people could really help out with the war on drugs. I don't think the government really wants to stop it. Theres too much money to be made.

  • buford's way of taken care of all the cruption was indeed orginal no guns,no knives just a good ol peice of timber

  • He was one of a kind. What I would have give more a chance to meet him and hear him tells stories about being sheriff.I only wish Prentiss County Mississippi had a sheriff like him instead of one that hides then takes credit for what his officers do.

  • Very nicely put together. I just rented the original Walking Tall a week ago. By shear luck, I was able to score a copy in a store. I am very happy to have found it and not to have to return it.

Officer Pusser: May you Rest In Peace, you served your county and country with honor and courage.

Thank you Dwana for your commentary on this fitting tribute.

  • A real MAN who stood up for what is RIGHT!!!

  • do you know that buford was a pro wrestler. does anybody have any of his record

  • His ring name was Buford the Bull.

  • I believe the rock was acted as a decent man to play buford pusser. he was a good man and best of luck to the family

  • we need more get tough cops like him today..

Meth is over running Southern Illinois today cause there's no get tough Sheriffs.. Don't get me wrong we got good sheriffs here too but they don't have the pull Buford had in Tennessee. Nor do they carry a big stick. Maybe hopefully some day Southern Illinois will get it's own Pusser like sheriff. Pusser is my idol I too carry a big stick like his.

  • best of luck

  • it's all over Central Texas too

  • Buford's mother,Helen, died in 1987. She was 79.

  • Nice post, thanks for this. The Rocks version of this movie really sucked. Shame they changed the story so much.

  • Great video! Buford was the best!

  • Typical of the enemies of Buford who are the only ones who ever say that just like criminals in jail never did it!

  • Sometimes you have to resort to doing wrong things for the right reasons. There is no black and white.

  • And when did his mother, Helen, die?

  • WOW! Some of you knew that guy.

    Great man!

  • And when did his mother, Helen, die?

  • I met Buford right before he died in Murfreesboro, he was a big man and nice as he could be. He drove a white T-Bird with blood red carpet and I dont know how he got in it, he was a big guy lol.

  • I met Buford..I met Dwanna and Bufords Mother.....a Great Family....My Family has visited His home and He visited us in arkansas.....He was Murdered..thats No doubt..My entire Family went to the funeral...Such a sad lose

  • I have been fighting mass corruption in northeast, MS for years now. I've connected the dots to various circles of crime within the police/legal system, Mississippi courts & even the healthcare systems of MS.

People either "love me" or they "want me dead" so I can relate to this story. Walking Tall was a good movie but I'd like to see one that someday highlights the "man" more and his love for his friends & family.

  • Elvisguy, are you a cop?

  • why do you ask Thundarr75?

  • No reason just curious.

  • thank to you

  • whatever happened to good ole' boys like that

  • Buford Pusser was a great person and so is his daughter Dwana. She is a very good friend of mine and I love the way this video shows some of my paintings and drawings. Keep WALKING TALL Dwana!

  • Buford is a Awsome and true law man who will always walk tall!! Thanks Buford!!!!

  • Thanks for sharing this.

  • Buford Pusser was a great man!!!
