  • There is some fuck ups in this one...Maybe the drank a little too much in between breaks. The rhythm guitar part is really tricky and Ed tried singing at the same time and that's where some of the fuck ups came. Later he stopped singing the chorus for this live, so maybe thats why there are mess ups/

  • Wow you can tell that there was tension between dave and eddie already. Dave puts that hat on Eddie and he didn't even wait till he was done with his solo. Mid lick and quickly tossed is away. Its pretty clear that Dave annoyed him.

  • Plus he is actually playing that crazy dragon guitar in this vid anyway. Notice that it does have a whammy bar and he uses it during this song. The destroyer didn't have one.

  • No the ibanez "shark" guitar is different from the Chris Holmes destroyer. That guitar still exists and is still whole.(although it's pretty beat up!) I don't know where Ed got his original destroyer but it was used all over Van Halen 1. Any song that didnt have any whammy bar use was the destroyer. This was before he cut it all up and ruined the tone. He borrowed another one from Chris H during women and children first and it's not the one on the cover of that album.

  • Does anybody know where Eddie got the Ibanez Destroyer from??? Anybody??Lets see who really knows their Halen trivia.

  • didn't he have to wreck another guitar to get that shape or something

  • Yeah he did,but the actual guitar it self was given to him by Chris Holmes of WASP. Now Im talking about the Ibanez Destroyer on the cover of the Women and Children album.

  • Chris Holmes?

  • yeah chris holmes.

  • whatdothey say at the end?

  • I'm gonna get some disputes about this but... It's actually even more rare than y'all think... I have the full existing footage of this show on VHS and it's NOT the Ibanez Destroyer, it's the Other Explorer copy that was carved into the snake/dragon thingy with the Black/Yellow Charvel Neck on it! He used it for the full show. I believe it was the first night of the II tour. Look at 2:28...

  • I agree man, I think the guy above you meant the snake guitar by saying Explorer, because thats what it is, just carved up.

  • @5150EVH5150 He sounds like he's tuned over a whole step down too

  • I was at this show in Fresno right under Eds mike. The fabulous poodles got booed off stage too funny. I would pay dearly for a full copy of this show. I have the audio and an awful bootleg. This shit is great

  • this is Fresno, right? I've got a great bootleg of that one.

  • if you have this footage do you mind posting it. I'd love to see it!

  • This is pretty sweet, I never saw film of Eddie playing the Ibanez Destroyer (copy of an Explorer) before. Very rare!

  • Say! put the full show of this on here.I have a audio

recording of this complete show. Some other people had

uploaded other songs from this show.

  • I wish I could man, but this is all I've got. The guy taking video must have had a few close calls, because this is all he got.

  • ok in 1978 when this was recorded, how the hell could you sneak in an audience cam? werent they like 40 pounds back then and couldnt fit in a volkswagon let alone a pocket?

  • WOWW awesome dude, got any more of this show?
