They Don't Kill The Spiders.... they paralyze them and then barre them in the ground and lay a couple eggs on it when the eggs hatch the spider is still fresh because its still alive and the baby wasp eat it alive
That's a pepsis wasp, commonly called a tarantula hawk. I was stung by one in my twenties while landscaping. The sting impressed me much that I called the department of horticulture and learned everything about the wasp. A fascinating creature, but believe me, it's sting is by far the most painful of any insect in the states.
This wasp lays eggs on this Spider, it doesnt eat it, lays eggs, then feed on the spider's body till they hatch outside of it, actually worse than quick death
Yes!!! That's exactly what I saw in my backyard in Adelaide. I have never seen a wasp like that before, does anyone know what type of wasp this is? I saw it on 2 occasions carrying separate huntsmans to a crack in the dirt. The first time I saw it dragging a huntsman and a redback ran up to the wasp and bit the wasp, then the wasp dropped the huntsman and went crazy bumping into everything. I thought it would die but I saw it again a few days later... Anyone know what it is?
hey, we had a nest in our garden in sydney(our garden looked like jurassic park) so i'm pretty sure it's a spider wasp, not sure of the exact name though.

@djlivingfire one insect that is apparently more painful is the bullet ant, their sting is deadlier than any wasp.
