as a modeler myself I am INCREDIBLY impressed with the builders attention to detail. One thing I always wondered..why not put some sort of mesh or screening at the backs of the turbine inlets so you cant see all the tubing and wires?
that thing is so detailed i see those jets everyday and it looks exactly like it except for the fuel tank on the center line its usually 2 one on each wing and shouldn't the eagle have 2 seats instead of one?
@antwaa2n000 Usually the F-15C flies with a single central fuel tank. It's a Charlie model with a single seat. The Delta model is a two seat jet for training purpose even if this jet is also combat-ready.
Very beautiful. All the details that are there..... Only the not retractable landing gear and the air brakes lack. But it is very good. I would also say there's a real F-15.
Its beautiful. How can I learn how to build these engines or build a jet powered model aircraft from scratch? It even sounds amazing damm! I'm a 2nd year Aerospace Eng student.
It's as detailed as one of those models you aren't even supposed to touch, and look at what you're doing with this thing that also costs money on fuel!
@gt96g um....well. not really. maybe it might have worked in WW2 but not now. if its a air to air combat. it wouldnt work. nowadays, planes have to barely see each other to destroy their enemies thanks to tha range of their missiles. and, if you put up a RC plane and send it to an enemy camp....well, idk if this has enough fuel for a trip to go and come back. it'd be quite complicated o-o
I have a serious question... a few months ago the US Department of Homeland Security issued a news story about a supposed terrorist group that planned on using model jet's of this type to attack bridges and infrastructure with. It is my contention that these things cannot carry enough payload to even make a good BANG! I would greatly be interested in hearing your take on this.
@TheShadowFX You are correct -- this type of model would be most unsuitable for that kind of application. They are too hard to fly and too limited in payload.
@xjet Thanks, I knew it! The story illustrates two things... one is that the globalist swine are getting desperate in grasping at straws like this... the other is that people will swallow just about any load so long as it has that government stamp of approval on it! When I was a kid my rich Uncle used to "play" with these things, I knew from experience that they wouldn't even get a rat or a guinea pig off the ground. Don't ask! :-)
@TheShadowFX Probably not - but something like that travelling at 300 odd mph with 500g or a kilo of semtex onboard or even a decent IED would have a pretty good chance of taking out a car carrying a President etc.
I've heard that in the States, RC flying is a no-go in locations the Prez is visiting/travelling through (??)
@quinton907 the damage from the amount this aircraft can carry would be negligible on a building, but fly it into a crowd and you could cause serious casualties
@MrFlipperf4f Think this was the maiden flight in which case the gear would most likely stay down for emergency landing .Just a guess, really not sure. Still a great plane!
i would say...2000-4000$ to build it, and were it an option, five to ten times that to sell it. by the way installing an on board light camera would provide additional assistance to land and control it, maybe you have played with the idea? its not necessary though, just a suggestion. And i really like the functioning rocket idea, that would make it more realistic and all you would have to do is repurpose a model rocket with, say, a midair release pin and a way to fire said rocket wirelessly.
These scale model rc hobbyists never cease to amaze me. No detail is considerd to small. Every caution sticker, paint detail and squadron markings are included. I believe a job done well is its own reward. But just the research alone must take days if not weeks. Pouring over photos and taking pictures at airshows. Making the stickers or painting them on with stencils. Then the planning building and assembly. A tip of the hat to all of you men and women.
idk if this has been done b4 but sum1 should make an RC plane that drops a fake foam bomb for show tht would be cool (If you don't like my grammar then thats you problem)
@SlamDuncDrummer These engines are already very fuel-inefficient so fitting an afterburner would make for *very* short flights, given the small space inside for fuel.
My camera is an old Panasonic MX500 with stock optics operating in standard def wide-screen mode. It's old but it's been a damned good camera, capable of really good results. Now I need a new camera (HD) but can't afford to replace this one - I was hoping a camera co would ante-up with some sponsorship (yeah, right!).
@SlamDuncDrummer When you record in wide-screen mode to DV, it's automatically upscaled to 1280x720 by the video editing software you use (I use Sony Vegas). Not really HD but actually a whole lot better than 4:3 SD.
@xjet Thats awesome! Im sure its possible, did you not consider using using the external tanks to feed the turbine :) I suppose it would be a little vulnerable underneath the body though rite?Any how, very interesting video. Would love to own something similar one day.
and here, you probably have the answer to some of the 'real' UFO sightings captured on vid ! If a highly detailed working model of this calibre can be made virtually identical to the protoype, then how much easier to make a 'real' flying simple UFO shaped object! Superb modelling. I rate it 150 out of 100!
Beautiful model. For turbine rc jets, the F-15 is one of the easiest to fly but this pilot almost lost the plane by going around the corners a bit too slow... any slower it would have fell out of the sky. Maybe a bit more on the rudder in the turns would help also.
The detail is exceptional. The Lilliput Air Force would be proud to be equiped so. Good to see the nose being kept up in the turns. Excellent piloting on its first flight.
The crouched and forward leaning position of the pilot model inside makes him look like he's taking a dump on the job.
