The other movies aren't necessarily like this, but they inspired some of the same emotions in me. Check out Secretary, Perfume, Se7en, almost anything by David Lynch, and that should get you pretty well started :)

This seems like a sick f---ed up, yet powerful movie. When it said it's inspired by true events, I'm not surprised that real life is stranger than fiction. I also do agree that the song in the end captures the dark, sad & haunting tone of this movie.

The song is called Hurt by Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails, but this version is covered by Johnny Cash. You can find it on the American IV album.

Wow. The performances look very extreme. This should be different. I don't think Rufus will win an oscar though. Maybe he'll be nominated for an Independent Spirit Award.
