  • 5:18 thats what she said

  • Players from 30+ years ago are always bashed for having the nerve to have played in a different ERA. How about this ---next time you want to compare ERA's---think how a player from today would perform in 1970 Ice Skates. Shin guards. Wood sticks. No helmets. Players today are dressed like Gladiators. My grand ma could skate with today's skates. Never bash other ERA's---players play when they play. All things remain equal. It has always been very difficult to score a goal in the NHL. Always.

  • gretzky not number 1? your shitting me

  • Commentator was right that Rick Nash goal.... It Doesn't get any better then that.

  • Orr played defense. You New-Bees dont understand how much harder defense is than Center / Wing. Gretzky and Lemiuex were fabulous. No question. But the truth is, and numbers dont lie--they allowed almost as many goals 'against' their line as they scored ! Not with Orr. Not many highlight reels with 'D's stopping goals. That's why they keep a PLUS/MINUS stat. And that- Orr owns. And he will for the next 1000 years. +1 per game average. Do your home work. That Stat is untouchable.

  • Two favorite teams all time right there, couple of beauties, Boston Bruins and Pittsburch Penguins. Pens when I was a kid, Bruins now.

  • you have to be kidding me ...... not even a mention of the greatest of them all....gordie howe. mr. hockey. what a farce!!!!

  • NO Biliveau ....

    No Lafleur ....

    No Richard ...

    That video sucks

  • wheres forsberg

  • where is crosby

  • No Fedorov huh? idiots..

  • why there isn't JARI KURRI ?

  • why ovechkin is only 4th ?

  • Lemieuxs goal on Bourque was still the best ive ever seen. Great list, give Datszuk a few more years, he"ll move up a spot or two.

  • WTF where is Ray Bourque

  • 2:20 "if there was a lose puck I was gonna get to it" I wouldn't say 'gonna' in 1996 Gretzky had a lose puck and allowed Yzerman to score in game 7 double OT

  • ovechkin and crosby arent even close to lemieux and gretsky.

  • omfg rick nash at 1:34 sick.

  • orr>gretzky.. orr was simply more versatile and an all around better player.. defense offense fighting hitting gretzky was only good at 1 while bobby was good at all of them... and ya im from boston

  • Any list of all time Greatest or most skilled hockey players that doesn't have Gretzky as #1 is Wrong.

Switch Lemiuex and Gretzky and it's an ok list. Although they got alot of thing right without putting Bure and A.O. in there, and giving Kovalev his well deserved credit, and Savard, it's still off on many spots.

Gretzky is the best Hockey Player ever to play the game. I still don't understand how this is open for debate.

  • Ovechkin isn't there, Crosby isn't there this list is fucking perfect

  • pavel bure was born on my birthday ,march 31

  • A lot of people want to bash this list, but to be honest I think it's pretty fair. I don't think Mario, Wayne and Bobby were better than each other. I think they're all just tied for first. As far as Pavel Bure goes, he was incredible, I don't care what anyone says. That guy was so fast that he would score a goal before the announcer could even come to terms with the fact that he was on a breakaway. If that isn't a scarey skill, I don't know what is.

Sergei Fedorov is worth mentioning too.

  • jannik hansen?

  • Selanne?

  • What was the song in background, when Mario Lemieux was on?

  • Rocket Richard not on the list. List is fake.

  • @InTecknicolour It's a most skilled list. The Rocket was all about passion and will. He was fast with a great shot but not in the top 10 for sure.

  • OMFG where the hell is FORSBERG??? shit list.

  • @Lorfmor @Kerec

First, it's of their time. Second, it wouldn't matter. You're complete idiots if you think Foresberg ranks above Orr, Gretzky, or Lemieux. Please educate yourselves

  • @krazypenish don't think anyone stated that he ranked above them? :P

  • @Kerec then why did you comment "Where's Forsberg?". This is the Top 3. Unless you know another way to get into a list without bumping someone down, you're implying that he's better than Lemieux, Orr, and Gretzky

  • @krazypenish stupid cunt

  • @krazypenish BTW I never said that Forsberg is better than any other player, like Gretzky and Orr, but if you deny that Forsberg shouldn't be here, then I asume that you are jealous fucking finn or an butthurt Canadian that can't handle that a Swede is dominating the whole fucking game.

  • @Lorfmor am indeed saying that Forsberg does not deserve to be in the top 3 players of all time, dipshit

  • ...no crosby even in the best of the rest...?

  • dueteschyn need to cut down on the roids! lol

  • If those were the best highlights of Bobby Orr's career, he might be a great all-time player, but he doesn't belong on this list.

  • @skyl13 In 1970 he won : 1. The Hart 2. The Norris 3. Ross 4. The Conn Smythe 5. The Stanley Cup 6. Plus / Minus Champion 7. Most goals and assists for a Defenseman 8. Canadian Athlete of the Year. 9. Sport Mag Male Athlete of the Year. 10. Sports illustrated Athlete of the Year. All in one year. No other NHL Player has won those awards over a 20 year career, let alone a single season. Does that answer your question as to the 30 second video in question ? I hope so.

  • the younger players cant be compared to the older ones, hockey is way to different now days.

  • They are hockey players, not gods for Crissakes.!

It was fun to watch, but my heros are still players from the 60's & Early 70's.

    Before money dominated the game.

  • my only grip with this list in Gretz is only 3rd? i am a penguins fan and would love to see him not there but damn if anyone says he isnt the best lets look at numbers or just what he did. the passes the moves the speed the raw ability.

  • @DrGnome90 i agree, but remember the name of the list isn't "best", it's "skilled". there's no question that gretzky's the best hockey player, and one of the best athletes in any sport, but he wasn't making moves like lemieux was. his style was much more straight forward. don't get me wrong, gretzky is skilled beyond my comprehension, but i agree with having him in third on this list.

  • How can you not include Howe, Bossy, LaFleur & Richard. None of the modern era players deserve to be there, the league is so watered down compared to when it was 21 teams or less, good players now look great, try making a team when there was only 6 teams, never mind dominating that era.

  • how can tsn put gretzky 3rd??

  • @alex91161

    Should have been 2nd

  • why did brendan shanahan keep pretending they were talking about him?

  • Awesome pass at 3:33!!!

  • Datsyuk, Forsberg and Crosby are my top 3.

  • cant believe bobby clarke didnt make this list

  • Orr's plus-minus was far superior to Lemieux's.... +1.0 per game to Mario's + .12 Orr didnt just score em' he stopped em'.....

  • @MrTehChopper I think you're looking to hard on the numbers. Take a look on game development and hockey-era's. I mean compare the era Bobby played in and the era Mario played in?

  • I have been involved at all levels of Hockey for 45+ years. I understand you can not compare 'ERA's' all that well. The numbers Orr put up-- why did the other Superstars of that ERA not put up similar numbers ? Lemiuex, a great player, played in an ERA that was near 'no check' until the latter years. Many scoring champs today under 6 feet tall. So much for the 'larger player' factor. {Crosby 5'11 190}. Orr, with today's skates, sticks & equipment would still dominate like no other.

  • @MrTehChopper Indeed, small guys can truly make it in this league, and Orr truly dominated in his Era. Would've been interesting to have seen him in the game today, or in the 90's, I think however he wouldnt've done as great as he did in his own era.

  • @MrTehChopper Orr, 40 years later (good knee version) would still be 1st or 2nd defenceman today. He was just that far ahead of his time. His bad knees would prove to be the end of him, unfortunately. But keep in mind that hockey was a side thing back then. Now it's a full time career. When players aren't playing, they're training

  • @krazypenish Exactly, as did the game develop in the sense that it is alot tougher for Orr-esque cruising around in the modern game. Bobby was a good tough guy and all, but what if mr Scottie Stevens was at the blue line waiting for him?

  • Orr had another factor that can not be seen in highlight reels. He was as fresh in the 3rd period as he was in the first. Amazing stamina. You can not appreciate his speed unless you saw it up close and personal. Orr had hall of fame defense men to contend with. Montreal had several- all 6' 2-6' 4....Steven's plus/minus is a fraction of Orr's. No matter how you do the Math- Orr's plus / minus can not be ignored. But you new kids on the block keep trying. Orr plus +1 per game average.

  • @Kerec Orr would see him and go the other way :P

  • Bobby Orr 2012. Modern custom equipment. Incredible skate technology. Nylon gloves that weight ounces. Composite sticks that add 20+ MPH to shots. Modern medicine / knee braces, etc. Stratospheric salaries. Awesome training facilities and superb nutrition. ESPN promoting your talents world wide. League expansion. This would some how make Orr less than he was in 1970 ? I will need an explanation on that. Orr would be faster, bigger, better protected and shoot harder. DOMINATE.

  • @MrTehChopper orr in the shape he was in, WITHOUT modern stuff. With, you STILL can't compare anyone else with him

  • eric lindross?

  • @Blindykid

Not a chance in the top 10. Maybe top 100...Maybe.

  • Worst top-list ever, Forsberg is not even there, I mean COME ON... He dominated the game despite injuries and despite people cross-check him, hold him, slash him, trip him, in arguably the toughest era to play hockey in..

  • @Kerec huh? forsberg is the third player in this list..

  • @osthyvel No, Wayne Gretzky is #3

Forsberg got put into the "leftovers-pile"

  • @Kerec calm ur shit hes not that good

  • @RedFireVideos I smell a troll

  • @Kerec The thing is that the guys giving their opinion for this list know the game a little more than you do. Lemieux is in the right place.

  • @lazerpod66 I never said Lemieux was in the wrong place. But not having Forsberg even on it? That's a joke.

  • @Kerec I agree with you but you cant say any one dosnt deserve to be on the list

  • @TheTjstephenson I assume you mean that nobody on that list doesn't deserve to be on it? Can't seem to get the first part up, but from what I can remember of the ones who are on it, I don't think Kovalev deserves to be on it, Forsberg * infinity > Kovalev . I like Kovalev, a great old player with alot of games and points, but I don't think he makes this list.

  • Peter Forsberg

  • Either the list should be re-named Top 10 skaters of all time or Roy should be on this list...

  • Lemieux, Gretzky, and Orr are in a league that no other players can even approach. They are so far superior to everyone else who has ever played the game of hockey

  • the fact wayne is # 3 is retarted

  • @ItzMrGreenz no doubt wayne was was incredibly skilled but what set him apart was his vision. there were definitley more skilled than him but his hockey sense and vision are untouched.

  • Comment removed

  • i would like to see the top skill guys after the year 2000 because i know evgeni malkin would have to be in the top 3 with datsyuk and crosby.

  • @Frozenbolt1967 100% aprouve ;)

  • I think Pavel Bure should have been top 5.

  • OMG the 2 goals by Rick Nash...beautiful.

  • @alldayjay502 Plus one for you. They were insane.

  • @Slipknot5301

gretzky could not play physically or defense. Bobby orr remains the best because he could play all aspects of the game and played them superior to anyone else.he could shoot, pass, skate from end to end in a flash first one up first one back, could hit like a ton of bricks and wasnt afraid to drop the gloves. and when he did drop the gloves he rarely (if ever) lost

  • No fedorov?

  • actually, where is sergei fedorov ?

gretzky said, he couldnot play D, mario couldnot, and jagr couldnot. but sergei could. thats talent.

  • Completley disagree with the final three. Orr is #1 no question. They should have renamed this list the top 10 most exciting players of all time. Orr would still win. I can pick five classic NHL games from random and there isn't a game that Orr didn't go through the entire team at least once. Gretzky was an offensive genius who dominated in era when Dennis Maruk scored 60 goals. Guy Lafleur was more exciting and equally talented as Lemieux.

  • how did ovechkin make it if crosby didnt

  • I think Datsyuk and Ovechkin should switch places on the list. Other than that I pretty much agree completely.

  • @holobalobalo Well Ovechkin is not on the list, so he can't actually switch places with anyone.

  • @Barachat He's not? I thought I saw a clip of him at the #4 or #5. Well in that case nevermind lol. I think Datsyuk and Kovalev are pretty evenly matched skill-wise though.

  • @Barachat Yeah now that I watch again he's just in the "Best of the Rest" section.

  • @jordannashlikespepsi hemsky? Kane? Not even close to Gretzky and Orr. Datsyuk is one of the most heads up players ever to play def. But still not close to Orr or gretzky. But damn datsyuk is amazing

  • @eforesman33 this was done by TSN, the Canadian ESPN. Note how Sportscenter is spelled "SportsCentre." And when you think about how many truly skilled players have played the game well over a century in the making, and more players such as Crosby and Ovi are appearing, it puts into perspective just how difficult it is to narrow down the list to a mere 10 players. Frankly, I think they did a decent job.

  • why is ovechkin on the list?

  • where is forsberg? :P defently by top 10 at least.

  • Datsyuk is 10th? what madness is this? He has the best skill set and hockey sense i have ever seen in the sport. And as much as i hate to say it, crosby should be there too. And where is Steve Yzerman?? Peter Forsberg?? Awful picks. Sportscenter doesn't even do hockey. Why are they doing a top 10 for hockey players? they obviously don't know what they are saying.

  • What about Makarov?

  • I go to college with Mario Lemieux's daughter lol, she's on my floor, really chill

  • I'd definitely put Crosby and Forsberg to that list.

  • @KamaHipHop I agree with you. It's not really as though L. deked and weaved through B. so much as that B. was at a positional disadvantage and L. was able to blow past him. Let's see L. do that when B. is backward skating and facing him. Overrated play. Nice, and dramatic cause it's Bourque, but overrated.

  • lemieux may be the most skilled player of all time but he played for the wrong team! fuck off pittsburgh! i don't understand why players like forsberg and ovechkin are not in this list! datsyuk: agreed! jagr: DISAGREED! bure: agreed! savard: agreed! nilsson: agreed! perreault: DISAGREED! kovalev: hmmm ok! gretzky: for sure! orr same as lemieux: wrong team but agreed! ovechkin is the most complete hockey player now should be in the list in near future and forsberg wow he was great! forget crosby!

  • 28 people don't understand why Gretzky isn't #1.

  • 3:33 ...Dirtiest pass i have ever seen...if you think that wasn't on purpose you are an idiot

  • WTF is Lemieux doing at #1?

  • @DeeceJeff lemieux is a beast thats why

  • Let's be honest, guys like Datsyuk, Hemsky, and Kane - pure skill guys - should top Gretzky and Orr on this list. That doesn't make them better hockey players, but more skillful. Which is what this list is all about, anyway.

  • Comment removed

  • heeeeee shoots and scores lol

  • PETER FORSBERG!!!

  • where in tardnation is crosby

  • @hockeyrocks119687 Crying in a corner...

  • You can't say who really is the greatest player of all time. You can say for that era because the game was played differentially. Also what about the teams that were stacked with talent and others not so much.Example look at Rick Nash of Columbus or if you go back does anybody remember Peter Bondra of the Capitals?

  • @smell8182 who doesnt remember peter bondra

  • Mario Lemieux as n1? Are you kidding me? Where's Forsberg?

  • Where is Ovechkin, Forsberg and shanahan

  • @mazmartin Eh, Ovi and Shanny aren't necessarily top-ten in terms of pure finesse. They're less skill forwards than they are/were power forwards, and while they have fantastic moves, they didn't jump out as the primary reason they were so good. Ovi, for instance, actually has a fairly narrow range of preferred moves. Yeah, he scored on his back once, but ONLY once, you know? The guys on this list pull moves like that every couple of games. Agreed about Forsberg, though, definitely.

  • I always wonder what Mario's numbers would be like had he not have to battle with cancer and an irregular heartbeat.

  • @namrahnotyal In the '92-'93 season, Mario played only 60 games, yet scored 69 goals and 91 assists. It was an 84-game season (standard back then), and if he had played all 84, that would have given him 97 goals and 127 assists for a total of 223 points: the most goals and points in a single season. Gretzky was the best playmaker, and would still hold the best assists record, but if Lemieux wasn't busy beating cancer, he'd have beaten Wayne's goals and points records by a long way.

  • @namrahnotyal Do the math, IF Mario could've played as much games as for example Wayne Gretzky, he could've scored WAY over a 1000 goals in his career. As for point totals, he would be trailing by a few points.

  • where's lafleur...

  • Bourque looked like he gave up on the play but he didn't because Bourque was top notch player and played as good as anybody during that time.Mario Lemieux was in Orr and Gretzky's league.I'm not really sure about that order as Gretzky Orr then Lemieux. That can be debatable for a hundred years.

  • where is ray bourke, cris chellios, bobby hull, roy,and come on kesler seden brothers errhoff and where the fuckin hell damn it is Roberto luongo

  • @ps3gamer226 I hope you're joking. Only two Canucks players ever could have made this list. Bure (who did) and Naslund.

  • Lemieux is and always will be better than Gretzkt. wayne had a POWERHOUSE team behind him in Edmonton. Lemieux had WARREN YOUNG. And despite that he set young up for 40 goals in his rookie year. Young was a terrible hockey player and little more than a half assed goon. When Lemieux and Gretzky were on comparable talented teams Lemieux put up the better numbers. And people kiss Wayne ass so much. They act as if he was the reson for Lemieux being a great player, try to attribute things.....

  • @SCROGY .....to him that he had nothing to do with (Olympics/Canada Cup). And when George Laraque says he was the worst coach he had, people act as if he insulted Jesus. Fuck Gretzky. I lost all respect for him when he relied on fighters to protect him and then attacked fighting once he was retired. How many cups did Wayne win after Edm? And how many did Messier win? Yeah. Most overrated player ever. Lemieux could do everything Wayne could and more like liteally carry guys on his back.

  • @SCROGY You made an excellent point when you mentioned the omission of Mark Messier!! They also omitted Gordie Howe. In fact, extremely few players who played before 1975. Orr, and Beliveau got a mention in the "Best of the rest" category. Perhaps Perrault started his career before 1975, too. No Rocket Richard. These lists, particularly in hockey, overconcentrate on the modern-day players. At least the shows for baseball and football do a better job of recognizing the early stars, too.

  • @VrgniaMailman It's skill players, though, not all players. This is particularly about guys who excelled through sheer finesse. Howe, for all his talent, wasn't really like that. Messier was even less so, a sheer power forward before the term was even invented yet. They weren't comparable to the guys on this list in sheer stickhandling and skating agility at speed. If this were straight-up top ten all time, it'd obviously be different. Howe'd be on there for sure.

  • i was gonna lose it if ovechkin was on the list but forsberg

  • The presenter looks like he's sippin' on STEROIDS inbetween shots! lol

  • Pause at 6:10.

  • i missed: Afinogenov, Rick Nash, Peter Forsberg

  • Where is Sidney Crosby :O Man. He's better than lots of those guys :P but Still nice top 10

  • @Andr3wB94 If Datsyuk is 10th there is no way Crosby would make it to the list.

  • @Teerroo Difference is, Crosby's only had a few seasons, and an NHLer's prime years are usually the 26-30 range. I wouldn't count him out. You bring up something else, though: Datsyuk's only tenth? Really? Looked noticeably slicker than at least two or three others on that list, didn't it?

  • @Teerroo Even as a Pens fan, yeah, you don't make the top 10 by not playing. The "C" on his sweater stands for concussion, not captain.

  • @Teerroo I agree with this on two levels. One, Crosby has not played in the league long enough to make such a list, and two, you have to possess physical toughness to make this list.

  • @Andr3wB94 shaken my head.. crosby can suck a fat one

  • Man. Where is Sidney crosby :P he's better than lots of them :)

  • Iginla? Not the greatest hands but his shot is an asswhooper

  • 1. Orr, 2. Gretzky, 3. Lemieux, 4. Bure 5. Datsyuk - My personal opinion

  • Great list. That Rick Nash goal will always standout to me. Wow wow wow.

  • @17bruins91 Yeah no kidding hey!

  • Some people wish they were younger... I wish I was older so I could have seen some of these guys play!

  • Honorable Mention: Bondra, Amonte, Selanne, Kariya, LaFontaine and Shanahan, just to name a few...

  • KHARLAMOV?!?!?!?!where is Kharlamov?do these idiots really think that he is not at top 10?!

  • Steve Yzerman? Alex Ovechkin? Gordie Howe?

  • Stevie Y???

  • Forsberg at 0:49

  • man fuck Ovechkin...Datsyuk is soo much better than that fag

  • What bothers me about this is really that they only take top point producers. The fact that Lidstrom isn't on this list says it all.

  • Ovechkin and Crosby?

  • @LiamF8913 To be fair, they have to play a lot longer to prove their consistency. If they continue to dominate they will probably be in this list in 10 years.

  • Bobby Orr all day my friend HE IS FIRST!!!!

  • steve yzerman c mon they missed a great one

  • um marty st. louis...... hello?

  • @justinpierceify

Marty is NOT top 10 all-time you dummy. There are a LOT of more skilled players than him. Don't forget there are HUNDREDS of hockey players. Many greats over the years. You can't INCLUDE ALL in the top 10. You fool.

  • 1 Datsyuk shoulve been in this vid not the first 2 were was Joe Sakic 3 Ovi isn't that good.

  • Forsber should be the number 1

  • Were is Richard?

  • I stopped watching this once I saw Ovechkin.

  • @Leafsrule016 that was honorable mention

  • gretsky is first

  • Of course people are going to whine about this list, but look at the title...Most Skilled; nowhere does it mention Greatest Player, Best Player, etc.,...these guys had raw hockey talent. Most of them are among the greatest players, but these are the guys that had pure skill. it's not a bad list at all if you look at it from that point of view. And to even be on the Best of the Rest, you had to get Top 10 votes, so those guys are in really great company.

  • Where's Crosby like seriously

  • @goosher9 at home nursing his concussion

  • @goosher9 lol hes crying in his crib

  • @goosher9 Probably got "knocked out" of the list

  • Comment removed

  • I understand Mario was special, and Ray was great... but come on, that last play wasn't THAT special... you can't do much defensively BEHIND you when you're skating FORWARD! Seriously... I've seen a lot better dekes and dangles that undress Defensemen... but because this is Bourque it becomes the greatest? Get the fuck outta here.

  • Fucking scandal forsberg aint one of the top 10

  • @Iv3rz

    Agreed, he was a virtuoso

  • @Iv3rz foresberg fuckin sucks man

  • @Iv3rz No kidding. That just fucking baffles me. D:

  • Of course Mario Lemuix is number 1

  • almost all of them are on nhl 12 legend team
