Doesn't matter what color you are, you would find each and everyone of them at a show like this. And there wouldn't be any "fuck you hoe", fighting because you smudged my Puma, etc going on....it would be pure happiness and mutual respect from and to all present.
I remember hearing this for the first time time in late 1978, at boarding school in England, it was tearing into us off the radio every day! I was 17...Wow!
Now...33 years later the song is as brilliant and tight as ever! Just a fantastic piece of musicianship...Now I'm 50, and still goin' strong like this incredible piece of music! ha ha
danced ecstatically to this in es paradis disco (soooo cool) in ibiza at the tail end of the hippy and 'it place' era and start of trashy package tour times. 1980?
LOL...I can only think of NYC back in the day and Puerto Ricans doing the hustle and all the creativity they would come up with on a dance floor to this song! Seemed like this song was made to showcase thier talented footwork!
I remember only hearing this ONCE in my youth! Like a "President getting shot" moment I actually do remember the whole scene, such was the impact of this track. One of my lifetime favorites. Thanks.
Brilliant brilliant track, it will never fade and gets me Dancing on the Floor from the first note. takes me back to djs & roller discos! but man what a song from a great band.. we live.. yes play it everyday & smile
one of my all-time favorite songs... saw Third World in NYC in the 80s...MAGICAL! .. that night, sang the words to my girlfriend 'now that we found love what are we gonna do?'---quite the dilemma
Now THIS is the ORIGINAL of this song. I used to have this album and I couldn't get enough of it. The remake of this song doesn't do a bit of justice to it. Thanks so much for posting this classic.
@luv621 "we all are one" is another, indeed.. The power of rhythm is our chance to reawaken our spirit along with the almighty heavenly fathers word!! One Love!!
This is a song for the world to become aware of GOD/LOVE" and his rhythms that trIies to wake us up, to the only thing that matters most.. LOVE.. and Third World caught it within them and gave it to us!!! Play it very loud and listen to the words!!! It will set your spirit and soul free!!!!
@gruvwyze YES IT WILL!!! Blessings...another one to listen or view is Jimmy Cliffe's WE ALL ARE ONE...LIVE IN LOVE ALWAYS...PEACE LOVE LIGHT & BLESSINGS
I used to work for London Tramsport, Chiswick, West London. We used to spend so much time at the District Line Sports Club in Acton. This tune must have been played 1,000`s of times on the jukebox. I know cos I put it on most of the time :)) Great classic, timeless reggae tune. This song and 96 degrees in the shade remind me of great times. I am an old Victor Meldrue type now.....but I wasn`t back then!!!
From the Glorious Club Era, late 70's to early 80's, when deejays took you on a journey, and the music and dance could sustain you until you could come out again (usually the next night, back then, how did we do it?). This one was all over the New York area, and no damn wonder. It's absolute perfection...
@njplr Happy days indeed my friend..........and not a single mention of bustin' a cap in anyones ass, or smackin anyones bitch, in any of the songs back then...oh yes, HAPPY DAYS.
Throw in some Maze, Players Association, Grover Washington Jr and Gil Scott Herons The Bottle and I am in soul boy heaven!
@KStealed Ehm, good luck getting a good vinyl through P2P networks. When I talk about records I mean Vinyl records, long play (LP) or short play (SP / Single). If I talk about the collection of songs in general, i'll talk about an Album. You can buy/get an album as a Record, Cassette, CD, DVD, Blu-Ray or MP3, MP4, WMV or a lossless format.
And for crying out loud, stop using those ancient P2P networks. Use Usenet, it's much safer, faster and better.
@KStealed Haha, thats a relief. Thanks for the help. Love the the music too. The best way to listen to music is always live, when its not canned of course. Just love to have records of the music I really love to listen to. It beats collecting stamps. lol
some 18 years ago back in 1993 I was at a disco where the local record player turner slave (read: DJ), was trying to push a (c)rap version to the audience.
I asked him if he (since he was playing a remake of this tune with a lot of (c)rap) if he had a clean version without all the distortion (rap) within.
He(almost) immediatelye realized that for music lovers there is a big difference between that just pretence (rap).
I have to credit him for finally playing the original.

Yeah a definite classic, it WAS hypnotic, soulful, magical - Larry useda have us going seemingly endless on this song. But this one broke out, I remember a BLS deejay "the J" LOVED this, used to work it on the radio. God, what an era, I miss it all sooo much...

OMG just got chills up my body. Yes a trance is what we were in especially at the GARAGE baby. Let me tell you that this was the shit for the serious dancers. Thank You for this post
This song and 96 degrees is so good you just have to get up and go crazy dancing, not only that you'll have this shit eatting grin it makes you sooooooo happy
this song brings me into another time & such an erotic time with a "special man" that made me listen to it when i said naaahhh until I heard it, now I cant stop playing it and thinking of HIM & I dancing away to this sooooo sexy song together SIIIIIIGGGHHH!!! it was amazing to say the least oh wish time could stand still.
This is 3rd Worlds greatest hit, this and Dancing on the floor these two songs would set the mood for a party...It's HARD to hate when this cut is playing...it should be played in Public Schools rite after the Pledge....Thanks Denisem you sweetie of sharing and thank you TOMMOFUNK for the quality sounding post...peace & love
