Let me put this reality about abortion into perspective for you. 15 years ago I got my girlfriend pregnant. I was 20 years old, hadn't finished college and was not "ready for a kid." I was pro-abortion for about 2 days. Went with my gf to a medical clinic as town was small. Nurse there said she could "take care of the problem." for us. When I heard, "problem," I knew the baby wasn't the problem, my actions were. Fast forward 15 yrs and a beautiful young woman now lives, thank God!
There are some decisions we shouldn't be free to make for ourselves. Taking the life of another human without just cause (self defense, life of mother) is one of them. We aren't allowed to kill adult humans. Why should we be allowed to kill pre-born humans? Because they aren't "viable" yet? Because they have no one to defend them? Thats not how equal protection works. Equal protection means that all within a certain class must be treated equally. For example, a law that outlaws only pit bulls and no other dog does not violate the equal protection clause so long as all pit bulls are treated the same. The equal protection clause limits governments power to regulate. Since abortion is a fundamental right anyways, the equal protection clause would limit douchebags like you from burdening that right. Aren't you one of those tools that always quotes the constitution? Haven't you ever read the thing? Seriously, its your duty as a citizen to know how the country works. Yes, dogs are property. Your right to be free from the government arbitrarily seizing your property is protected by your right to due process of law. You are entitled to at least a hearing first. You are protected from the govt enforcing laws against only a minority of the people by the equal protection clause.
The equal protection clause says that if a class of people is subject to a law, everyone in that class must be subject to that law. If the law says no pit bulls, you cant enforce it against just the mean ones. You have to enforce it against them all. The government can classify just one type of dog, say pit bulls, even though there are much more vicious breeds of dogs. It need not ban all vicious dogs at once because the court permits government to address problems "one step at a time."
Hearn v. City of Overland Park: an ordinance regulating the ownership of pit bull dogs within the city was held that 3) the ordinance does not violate the equal protection clauses of the United States and Kansas Constitutions;
Colorado Dog Fanciers v. City and County of Denver: with regard to equal protection, the court held that since ample evidence exists to establish a rational relationship between the city's classification of certain dogs as pit bulls and the legitimate governmental purpose of protecting the health and safety of the city's residents and dogs, the trial court correctly concluded that the ordinance did not violate the dog owners' right to equal protection of the laws.

Let me put this reality about abortion into perspective for you. 15 years ago I got my girlfriend pregnant. I was 20 years old, hadn't finished college and was not "ready for a kid." I was pro-abortion for about 2 days. Went with my gf to a medical clinic as town was small. Nurse there said she could "take care of the problem." for us. When I heard, "problem," I knew the baby wasn't the problem, my actions were. Fast forward 15 yrs and a beautiful young woman now lives, thank God!

There are some decisions we shouldn't be free to make for ourselves. Taking the life of another human without just cause (self defense, life of mother) is one of them. We aren't allowed to kill adult humans. Why should we be allowed to kill pre-born humans? Because they aren't "viable" yet? Because they have no one to defend them? Because they cannot fight for themselves. They are 100% human and as much people as you and I are.

Birth control pills do not prevent the sperm from fertilizing the egg. The pill simply tricks the body into believeing it is pregnant so the fertilized egg is flushed out with the menstral cycle. There are different types of bc pills and they all act a little differently. Most trick the body into believing it is pregnant so no egg is released and their secondary or tertiary actions are to prevent implementation. Life does begin at conception, whether its a chicken or a human. That would be a tremendous amount of abortions. I appreciate your kind regard for my soul, but you'll be disappointed to know that the pill has never been used as part of my fp, so I'm headed straight to heaven.

It's abut bringing down health insurance prices through a public option so that everyone can get insurance. Whether or not abortion will be covered by the public insurance is a debate for another day.

The fact that an unborn human is a separate and distinct person from the mother should grant that child equal protection under the law. Thats not how equal protection works. Equal protection means that all within a certain class must be treated equally. For example, a law that outlaws only pit bulls and no other dog does not violate the equal protection clause so long as all pit bulls are treated the same. The equal protection clause limits governments power to regulate. Since abortion is a fundamental right anyways, the equal protection clause would limit douchebags like you from burdening that right. The equal protection clause says that if a class of people is subject to a law, everyone in that class must be subject to that law. If the law says no pit bulls, you cant enforce it against just the mean ones. You have to enforce it against them all. The government can classify just one type of dog, say pit bulls, even though there are much more vicious breeds of dogs. It need not ban all vicious dogs at once because the court permits government to address problems "one step at a time."
