I think the reason this was never shown wasn't because it was too scary but because they were worried it would cause all the epileptics in the audience to have violent seizures
How the hell did you find this?! I mean, considering it was never released, and it was only ever seen for a short while before it was banned, and this clearly isn't cinema quality from 1972! Was it an extra on the DVD or something?
I was 13 when The Exorcist was released in the UK,so couldn't get into a cinema to see it! But,had this trailer been released, lol,I would undoubtedly never watched it! Ihave 3 seperate editions of the film, plus the box set with all 5 films,so you could say I'm kinda obssessed with this film, lol! That trailer was just plain SCAREY,SCAREY,SCAREY!
If this wasn't the scariest horror movie of all time, I'd love to know what was. There's a reason other horror movies have billed themselves "the scariest movie since The Exocist". I have yet to see one that compares.
The Exorcist was the #1 scariest film at this time in 1973. The scariest before that was Psycho and Night of the Living Dead, the Slasher genre hadn't gotten there yet and the zombie genre was still very young
its a little bit sacary but i can say the best horror film ver made in th whole world up to now its too scary this can scare generations! thae actors and actress are vry good its really effective! but the pictures keep on flashing is always reapeted i feel dizzy with it..... but great trailer

Ugh, even by today's standard, I bet it would still be banned. LOL no wonder why it was never released. So much visual subliminal flashing.

Jesus Christ. I've seen some God-awful things, but this just sends chills through my entire body. The perfect choice of music doesn't help...
