  • 19 th century MIDI !!

  • I wonder about the use of "inegal," the unequal length of same-valued notes. It's not really rubato or tempo variation. Can the roll itself be examined to see if that quality is "programmed" into the performance?

This piece is always heard at a rapid, but basically even pace, which seems to work well. It's fascinating to hear someone as illustrious as Reinecke do it so differently.

  • @gatesurfer i think, like all romantics liked to use a lot of rubato

  • Theatrical playing , the tempo is here and it has freedom ,it is like a baroque playing, great

  • A very interesting historical recording. Note the freedom of tempos and textual accuracy.

  • The "lumpiness" of some of the rhythms is what you get when the roll is played too slowly. If not twice this speed, this does need to played quite a lot faster nonetheless.

  • tempo all over the place......

  • I think this tempo is too slow comparing to Wanda Landowska's 1920's harpsicord version. I also want to hear the suggested tempo.

    Would you please post it?

    Thanks!

  • Words can't describe how beautiful that performance is. I'd also like to hear it at the suggested speed. This speed sounds right for most of it but theres places where it seems unnaturally fast for the particular interpretation.

  • CAN YOU PLEASE POST A VERSION WITH SUGGESTED TEMPO?

    I'd love to hear it!

  • very interesting to hear it played like this. very different from most recordings done now.
