For context, Bloc Party wrote the song "Song for Clay (Disappear Here)" after Clay in Ellis' other novel featuring the character, Less Than Zero.

The title of this song, "I Never Liked Anyone and I'm Afraid of People" is the last lines from Imperial Bedrooms.
