  • Couple of questions:

Do you have to be a Mormon to use this service?

Do you have a minimum on how much stuff you can get?

This is super cool and I just found out about it.

  • @DelbertStinkfester

That is a very good question. You do not need to be LDS to dry-pack at an LDS Home Storage Center. It would be best to call the center you are planning to visit to find out if they have limits on the amount of bulk you can purchase and dry-pack. Good luck!

  • Thanks for posting this video. I have a question do I need to go to the home storage center in my state or can I just go to the closest location?

  • @melbourne0

Very good question. You can go to any LDS Home Storage Center. If you need help locating an LDS dry-pack cannery near your place of residence, send me a message and I will respond with the address requested.

  • Do you have to be LDS to volunteer at a local storehouse?

  • @Presbyterian4life

Thank you for enquiring. No, you do not need to be LDS to volunteer at an LDS Home Storage Center. If you need help locating one near your place of residence, you may contact me through my channel by leaving a message in my inbox.

  • This is exactly how it works. I go there every month. My food storage is looking decent, although I have a little way to go to get anything close to a year supply of anything. Give me one more year though...!

  • That's how they do that , Thank you : )

  • Nice video. I just served at the local storehouse. It was both fun and rewarding. I hope to someday have a stable enough job so I can volunteer every week.

  • Yes, it is a wonderful place to do service for others. I wish more people knew about this opportunity. I am glad to hear you enjoyed it. Thank you for sharing about your experience.

  • Are non-LDS members allowed to use your facilities and buy from you?

  • Yes, non-LDS members can go to an LDS Home Storage Center during walk-in hours. You need to call the LDS dry-pack cannery nearest to your place of residence to inquire about their hours of operation, prices for bulk food sold there and ask any other questions you may have about dry-packing long-term food storage. Volunteers are very knowledgable and are there to help you as you saw in the video.

  • Thank you so much for your quick response. I am Episcopalian and live in Massachusetts and their is a Cannery in Worcester, Mass. We live in uncertain times and the LDS teachings about being prepared and ready for whatever challenges may come is great and I will spread the word of having your family ready. Thank you again, God Bless!

  • I am glad this information was helpful to you.

  • Thank You!

  • I have thought about going to an LDS Home Storage Center to dry-pack long term food storage but never was sure what to expect once there. I am glad this video shows what we can do from start to finish in the cannery. It was very helpful. Thank you.
